| AtharinaTheFae chapter 24 . 1/9
Unbelievable. He got the mindless sex slave zombie he apparently always really wanted. Good dog, Sarah! Pant pant, lick lick, go fetch so Jareth can pet you, what a good girl!
What a depressing ending to what started off as a really good Labyfic. Nice stream of consciousness thing you gave her there, though; about what you'd expect from a really good and devoted spaniel. I'm off to read stories where both Sarah and Jareth (and the reader) are NOT disrespected so abysmally: where she's not a blow-up toy and he's not so staggeringly insecure in himself that he had to make her one and where the reader is not kicked in the teeth after twenty chapters and totally betrayed.

This is possibly the single most disturbing story denouement I have ever read on here, and that's saying a LOT. I suppose you can feel proud of yourself for that. I don't even know where to start. So Jareth doesn't know how to take care of a woman, but he now has one totally dependent on him for everything. I'd say that's pretty fucked up and irresponsible, just because he was hurt because he could not have complete control. I think you set up a straw man just for the sake of your big dramatic finish: there could have been any number of vastly less drastic solutions to the problem. I see what you're trying to show here, but man, it's cold.

Deeply disappointing, cop-out ending. I will not be reading anything of yours again,

That was absolutely horrible.

Oh, for pete's sake. She's SO stupid, and this is being dragged out back and forth way too much...still, only four chapters to go. But if it doesn't end happily I'm going to be really cross.

Oh, good question. Well, I AM a published author, numerous books, not self-published ones, and the only reason I'm here is because I adore Labyrinth. And the answer is yes, you could do it. Easily. You have a nice sense of style, good pacing and characterization, and you can actually spell and punctuate. A few lapses here and there, but nothing egregious. I say go to it and the best of luck to you. You have good tools and much talent. All you need now is an original idea.

This is terrific. I' ve only just discovered it, and am eagerly reading. So glad it's an older story and so complete. Thanks for the great read.

So I just want to say this. Mind you, I have not finished the entire story as I find myself staying up well past my bedtime, but I figured I could discuss a few of the things I found interesting in your story.
First off, I found this entire story completely horrifying in all the right ways; Your description of Sarah and Jareth's feelings and actions are ABSOLUTELY spot on with a severely abusive relationship. Jareth's continued need to control every aspect of her life, refusing to regard her as a lone entity with her own wants, needs, and desires, smothering her with his love and then feeling as if she is ungrateful when she simply asks for her own freedom. I loved the way every single aspect of Sarah's initial distrust toward Jareth is slowly chipped away by his constant manipulations against her, first by putting her in a weaker position than him, then making it so she is completely alienated and alone with him as the only social link in that world.
Right now I am at chapter 18, but I have to say, this story gives me the heeby jeebies at how insidious abusive relationships can look. Even though I am a hardcore Jareth/Sarah shipper, I can see how such a relationship has so much potential to take a much darker turn. The knowledge of celtic myths are amazing as well, and I enjoyed it greatly. Fantastic job!

:D halfway through and I really love it!
...If I was there, I would not have hesitated to slap Finvarra in the face, no matter how High Treason it was. humph. asswhole.

Um... I see that this story is finished and that you probably don't need any books concerning faerie for reference -and the book series I'm going to suggest has VERY different faerie than Jareth is, but it's a good book: "Wings." I cannot remember the name of the author, but its about a girl who grows 'wings' (not really) on her back and finds out she is a Spring Faerie. :D It's a really good book and it's become a series! XD
Anyways, this is really good! ;D

Heartbreaking ending! Hate the moral, but loved your talent..and I appreciate how it keeps the Jareth character consistent, as well as shows Sarah's gradual emotional development. Nice work!
