i think about this story every couple months, without fail. have for a solid ten years now. i remember copying and pasting it chapter by chapter into the notes app on my ipod touch under my desk in high school history class so when I got home where i couldn't connect to the wifi, i could still read it late into the night with my covers up over my head, constantly eager and increasingly sleep-deprived to find out what would happen next.

whatever else is true, this fic will always be part of my life, if those memories were ever going to leave me, I think they'd have quit by now and they sure are still here, so... thank you.

Since you ask for feedback I will give it. I would love to have the energy to actually finish your story - the setup is intriguing and I do love the Hermione/Minerva pairing. But Your writing often feel unnecessarily convoluted and weirdly old fashioned. I suspect it's on purpose but whatever effect you want to convey, it just comes across as annoying and sometimes even difficult to read. Your story is 1223000 words long and imho, a good portion of those words are not necessary - use names instead of "the auburn haired man" etc. Drop the thesaurus- you don't have to find Shakespearean synonyms for your abundance of adjectives, particularly since you sometimes use them incorrectly - just use ordinary words. As a reader, I don't want to have to consult my thesaurus throughout a fic that is longer than the 7 HP books and Lord of the rings combined.
Other than that I do enjoy your story.

Oh my goodness. It took me pretty much a whole week to get to this. Seriously, minus some minute spelling/grammar errors, reading this novel has been the best. I sincerely hope that Minerva will be able to embrace her love for Hermione and they have a happy ending. And wow! Such a cliff hanger! Please please come back if you’ve got a chance to and update soon!
