nice chapter, I liked how you switched the POV, I also found the pellet gun thing very amusing. It's also nice that John is annoyed by Riley and not really paying any attention to her and all his thoughts are around Cameron. I also liked how John is realizing how much Cameron means to him and how they're not just friends but much much more.

Ha, love the shotgun and nine millimeter joke of Cameron's. Pellet gun. :) Gosh, I love how you make Cameron and Riley go back and forth, especially since Cameron still seems so in character even when making those jabs at Riley. "It's probably all you could handle." I love it. :) These moments are what I've been looking forward to most in this fic at this time. (Not that I want Riley around forever.)

Aw, Derek had a nice little moment with Sarah. It's good that he was opening up with her. (Even if he still lied about Jesse.) And his little joke at the end is his way of lightening the mood. It works well.

"Riley would burn." Gotta love Cameron's logic and sense of humor.

"Lucky" Riley hasn't lost her sense of humor. Interesting how John's starting to get annoyed by it. Then again, he is still suspicious of her and why she's here. Loved the ending with Cameron promising that she won't let anything happen to John.

I didn't think the POV changes were distracting at all. It always provides a nice change of pace when you do different point of views. I even liked reading Riley's thoughts. Can't wait for the next update!

That was good. The gun joke was a nice play on that from season 1.

I do like the ongoing verbal sparing match between Cameron and Riley. Cameron gets in some good jabs.

Great Chapter! Started off with that hilarious shotgun - 9 mm - pellet gun scene and ended with that touching scene of Cameron telling John she wouldn't let anything bad happen to him. And that part in the middle with Derek opening up to Sarah a little, very touching. Nice to see the warrior has a heart. Keep writing!

A nice addition. The only thing I felt the need to mention was this line...

She had no real desire to be near her and she was 94.724 percent sure that Riley had no real interest in being around her.

It's obvious you're going for Cameron's accuracy, but it's too precise. 94.7 would have been fine. I know a lot of authors tend to add more to the decimal number, but it damages the realism.

Other than that I enjoyed the chapter and I find the Riley, Cameron, and John interactions to be a lot better than in other stories. John seems to split his attention where as in other stories he tends to favor one over the other.

Ha! I love how Cameron's still baiting Riley like that. Her attempt to feed John was a bit extreme (that's not a writing critique, I'm merely commenting on Cameron's actions.) Riley's certainly good at manipulating things - she now has some time at the beach with John - and Cameron. That should be fun. :)

I thinkn it's great that Derek is trying to get Sarah to have a bit of fun as well. She definitely deserves some relazation too, even if they technically are going to keep an eye on John. Can't wait to see what happens with John, Cam, and Riley on the beach.

Nice update! Liking the development of Cam, interesting to see how she seems to be the only one that is willing to trust John in making his own decisions.

And rather interesting to see the conversation between Derek and Sarah. Suprising to see him actually stating that Cameron has a useful purpose rather than his standard rant about her.
