cullensrfun chapter 5 . 9/6/2009 I'm glad Bella had some word from Edward before she had to go to Charlie's funeral. Her anger was one of the stages of grief (I forget which one), and since she's out of the bed more, then that means she's progressing... Looking forward to Edward's letter, and then to when she sees Edward again. |
mycrookedsmile chapter 5 . 9/4/2009 I'm glad Edward sent her the telegram :( I have a copy of the telegram that let my grandmother know that my grandfather was wounded on Okinawa. |
fffan413 chapter 5 . 9/1/2009 Oh...poor Bella... The gravesite scene was very touching, sniff! Can't wait for Edward's letter! |
moonbeam228 chapter 5 . 8/31/2009 Just found this story and I love it! I hope it gets a bit happier and I can't wait for Edward's letter. |
aingealeire chapter 5 . 8/31/2009 Ugh - crying over here. |
ottosmama chapter 5 . 8/31/2009 Well, you had me crying again, but I assure you, that's a good thing! I understand Bella's anger and her thoughts that it's an emotion easier to deal with and understand than grief. I'm enjoying the pace you've set with this story - nothing is rushed and even though I'm dying to see Bella and Edward's reunion, I'm glad you're leading up to it in this way. Will there be any Edward pov or will the whole story be Bella's thoughts? I can't wait to read more! This was an excellent chapter! |
jennayg123 chapter 5 . 8/30/2009 You were definitely right when you said get out the tissues! So sad, but it made me smile to know he sent her a telegram and a letter is coming! I can't wait until they're together again! |
Twilightobsessed09 chapter 5 . 8/29/2009 Powerful chap! Can't say I wasn't expecting he to lash out I knew this would come eventually and I'm glad she got to dispell it. Yay! for a telegram from Edward right on time just when she needed him the most. Can't to see his letter. Hope they'll be able to see one another soon. Let's continue shall we... |
cshorte chapter 5 . 8/29/2009 Great chapter! Poor Bella...you had me in tears! I think you did a great job with the funeral..can't wait to see what's in edwards letter! |
AnjieNet chapter 5 . 8/29/2009 Wow, Jen. You have me crying now more than the last chapter. Reading all of this in one day is hard on the heart. You’ve captured Bella’s grief so well. From the pain and depression, to the anger, to the reflection. I’m hopeful that we will see her upward turn now and see acceptance and her moving on. Looking forward to Edward’s letter |
AnjieNet chapter 4 . 8/29/2009 Tears streaming down my face here as I read about Bella reliving all those childhood memories of being with Edward while curled up on his bed with her face in his pillow. Gah. I hated to see Bella pulling away from the Cullens, slipping into depression, being only comforted by Edward’s bed and sleep. The flashback of little Bella running to Edward’s room for sleep and comfort fits so nicely into the story, gives a little more foundation to Bella’s state and comfort in being in Edward’s be besides the obvious. You have done a very good job at portraying Bella’s grief over the loss of her father and the absence of her love. So sad and painful. |
AnjieNet chapter 3 . 8/29/2009 It’s hard to even imagine what Bella was going through. Waiting to hear news of her father and her love, all the time knowing that one or the both of them could be injured or dead. And then learning that her father is never coming home…it’s heartbreaking. I just love Edward’s words to her "I'm so sorry. I'll give you a home. You won't be alone, I promise." Saying everything that she needed to hear and then them comforting each other later, knowing that their short time together would not be enough. Their first time was so touching and realistic. So sweet that the ring came back into play; that Edward had kept it after so many years and that his little child’s heart had been broken as well. It’s sad that Edward has to leave but I’m so interested as to how the two of them are going to handle the separation and him going off to war. And of course, we have the wedding to look forward to as well. |
AnjieNet chapter 2 . 8/29/2009 Oh, those nervous, exciting feelings of first love. It’s fun seeing Edward bumbling for words, unsure what to say though he has the confidence of a man when speaking to Charlie, probably knowing full well the intent of the questioning. And then the kissing and touching later, no more nervousness, just wrapped up in their feelings for each other. What a beautiful moment. Knowing what’s going to happen to Charlie though makes the exchanges with Bella so bittersweet. His note of approval for her to be with Edward pulls at the heart. I’m sure it would be a comfort for Bella to look back on that moment. |
AnjieNet chapter 1 . 8/29/2009 Hey Jen – finally found time to start your wonderful fic. So glad you decided to extend Infamy. It was one of my favorite Age of Edward entries. Returning the wedding ring when they were children still made my heart ache, even on this reread. I think we've all gone through something similar at some point in our childhood. It's never easy and seems to be the end of the world at the time. Loved your description of the dance. The smells, the feelings, both mental and physical...wonderfully written. Ah, Charlie. Love that he knew what was going on between Bella and Edward before she even figured it out. Parents are as clueless as children seem to believe. And I love their relationship. That she knows she can tell her father anything and he'll be there for her with love and support. |
SinShameGuilt chapter 5 . 8/29/2009 I just found this story and it is absolutely charming. I'm teary eyed as I type this. Such beautiful writing. I'm looking forward to watching these two as they travel and difficult road together. |
