| Lucy Parker chapter 17 . 5/3/2013
I like how you ended it with Harry going back to a child but I'm afraid the Draco aspect really ruined the story for me. I know that tons of writers (almost everybody, in fact) like to 'redeem' him but that just really annoys me. He is a spoiled brat/bully who has always had everything handed to him in life; yet at the end, instead of dealings with or accepting the consequences of HIS actions, he always gets a free pass and more things handed to him.
Take this story: it was his fault that Lucius found out about Harry (thus Voldemort finding out) but he ends up getting rewarded by having Sirius as his guardian, which ultimately means that he'll also be his heir (heir to both the Malfoy's and Black's).
So: Harry got at least eleven years of abuse because of one old man's manipulations, he never got to be first in anybody's life (he came close with Sirius but he was still on the run so it didn't happen, even his friends were always there when he met up with him so he never even got exclusive time with him), his friends are fair-weather and abandoned him as much as they stood by him but the second he has a chance of something better Dumbledore sticks his nose in again taking it away.
But it gets better because now that the threat of Voldemort has lessened he has to deal with still not coming in first in Sirius' life (the first adult who he thought cared about him), his friends show their 'loyalty' to him by befriending Draco (because let's face it now that he's a child his 'fame' isn't there for them anymore so they're upgrading) and then Draco (who has had everything handed to him his whole life) gets instant friends and a better guardian.
I know that 'life isn't fair' and all but that is just something that has always absolutely irritated me. Harry should have counted as being import to certain people (namely those he would sacrifice anything for) but he never has; there has always been someone/something more important than Harry to them.
For Sirius it was his revenge, for Dumbledore it was his weapon, for his 'friends' it was what could benefit them (Ron loves his fame, name, and money and Hermione like being better than others), Remus had his 'fear' (that didn't stop him from hooking up with Tonks, just stopped him from being there for Harry), and Snape had his hate. Face it, as much as I like redeem Snape stories, he is not enough to counter everything that Harry's lost or never had.
That is why I hate when people focus so much on 'redeeming' Draco; they're forgetting that he chose that path. They seem to forget that he had at least his mother who was devoted to him and loved him, which means he had at least one parent who was 'there for him', he could have had true friends but chose not to try and find any, he chose to be a bully (and was often rewarded for).
I know it seems hypocritical to like Snape redemption story and not Draco ones but the difference is that Snape truly felt remorse for his actions. Even in the books Draco never did; he felt plenty sorry for himself when he had to go through with the path he chose but he never felt remorse for what his actions did or who he hurt. Basically, most of those Draco redemption stories (like this one) rewards him for being a bully. That's why I didn't find it as enjoyable as I could have; the potential was there but fell flat because of that issue.
Don't take me wrong, either. I did like the story (for the most part); I liked the Snape that you portrayed and the interactions between him and baby Harry were well done. Whats more, I think that you also managed to capture both of their personalities well, in both elder and younger forms for Harry, and I like how you showed Harry's confusion towards Snape as well as Snape's feelings of sorrow for what he lost.
Mostly though, I absolutely loved the end; I like how you captured the anxiety from Snape as well as the hopeful new beginning when Harry went back to being young. I truly hope it works out for them, they both deserve happiness, and Harry brings out such a brighter aspect to Snape's personality that is so pleasant to read. The only thing that is sad is when you think about how they could have been together so much earlier (and with perhaps a little less hatred/bitterness between them) if Dumbledore would have simple butted out.
I can't thank you enough for sharing the result of your hard work with us, and despite the length of my disappointment in comparison to the length of my admiration, I did truly enjoy your story and find it riveting. The only reason that the negative runs so long is because I was trying to explain my reasoning for it, instead of leaving it blank and possibly having you misunderstand what I meant; I acknowledge that I still might not have clarified it properly but I did my best, and I truly meant nothing horribly negative because of my comments (even if I would have enjoyed it a bit more without the Draco is the greatest routine).

I'm giggling so much during this chapter. I can just picture it. You're writing is perfectly descriptive.

Duuuuude! Are you gonna make a sequel? I gotta admit, a lot of this was out of character for Snape, and yet I loved it! The last two chapters had me totally depressed until the end.
| snapemartyr chapter 1 . 7/22/2012
Brilliant bit, the Myrtle interaction, absolutely a brilliant bit of engagement.
| Christine Jay chapter 17 . 5/22/2012
I love this story so much that I would always read it and would still laugh and cry (especially the last two chapters). This is well written and I enjoyed it so much. I know it's a little late for reviewing but I just had to you know? I hope you're at least planning a collection of one shots it would be nice reading it, anyway kelp up the good work!

Aw man, that must be so embarrassing for Severus. Lol. I wouldn't mind taking care of a cute little baby (for a day).

Okay! I was going to wait until I was done with this story to do a review but this scene had me laughing for like 20 minutes! I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR SNARKY SENSE OF HUMOR! There have been several times throughout this story when I bust out laughing! I love your Snape! He is the epicness of epic!
I love this part!
"Do you know what 'try' starts with?" the Potions Master glared down at the child, who was shaking by this time.
"A 't-t', sir?" the boy whimpered slightly.
"That's right," the master wizard sneered. "And do you know what else starts with 't'?" his voice dropped into a menacing whisper.
"I-I don't k-know, sir," the child admitted dejectedly.
"You're grade!" the Potions Master hissed, before waving his wand to banish the ruined concoction of…mess… out of the child's cauldron before stalking away. As he walked away, he said over his shoulder, "'Tears' also begin with 't', Mr. Creedy, and I do not want them in my class, so get out."
