|Reviews for I Heard The World|
| Salvare chapter 18 . 5/29
It's pointless to review a dead fic but anyway. I liked the whole reverse idea and Lelouch full of angst and guilt was interesting to read about, but it felt like angst pushed intelligence out of his head. The escort mission was much easier to plan and follow than the airport one, I don't believe he could have failed the in former if he had succeeded in the latter. Yeah.
[obligatory complaint about the cliffhanger and sigh about yet another dead fic here]
| Above the Winter Moonlight chapter 9 . 5/1
I've never read many reversal stories and I gotta admit, you did a good job with this one so far. I know I'm only half way through but I am definitely finding this to be an interesting story so far. It doesn't look like it's complete at 18 chapters and yet you haven't updated since 2011. Are you coming back to this story?
| 7Annabelle43 chapter 4 . 3/31
Wow, Kallen is so...different. hilariously so.
| Garibaldi the Black chapter 18 . 9/2/2015
I like this story, the plot moves along quite well.
There are some things I dislike though. Though most of the writing is good, there are some instances of passive voice writing that break SOD somewhat.
It is getting better though in the last few chapters.
| Reine de la Mort chapter 18 . 6/6/2015
Well, somehow I just knew. Somehow I just knew. Somehow I JUST KNEW all this would end on an epic cliffhanger. All the halfway-abandoned stories always end on an epic cliffhanger and then I'll never get to see the ending.
But, c'est la vie. We can't have nice things. In any case, I think the first few chapters were a bit awkward. I'm glad the references to tropes and other media died out fairly early. It breaks the mood when you have Gino shouting "This! Is! Japan!" in the middle of what is supposed to be a dramatic, tense scene. In fact, it broke my immersion in the story, which was really annoying.
Aside from that, you have a bit of a problem with using too many dialogue tags, as well as misusing words that are not dialogue tags, as dialogue tags. Words such as "realised", or "disagreed", or "understood" aren't dialogue tags. It's the vocabulary Nazi in me that resents this abuse of poor innocent words by unthinking writers.
Plot and character-wise, I'm fine with everything, except the fact that most of your plot seems driven by a basic misunderstanding or inability to trust between Suzaku and Lelouch. Particularly in the case of Euphemia. Even if it isn't "safe", does Suzaku not think Lelouch and Euphemia at least deserve to meet and know that they're not entirely alone in the world? It seems rather heartless and unfair of him to hide the truth so easily.
Oddly enough, I find Kaguya extremely distasteful here as well. I know you meant to portray her hidden depths, but that only showed up in one scene and we never get a scene from her point of view to show how she thinks and feels. Subsequently, I find I cannot truly understand her, and I find her naïve, foolish, unlikeable, and borderline sociopathic in the way she disregards the personal feelings of people who are supposed to be her close friends and family.
Other than all that? Loved this story. You have a unique premise, a great plot, and fantastically creative twists and turns. It's a shame that this will most likely never get finished, but I'll take it as it is.
| Reine de la Mort chapter 1 . 6/4/2015
1 chapter in, and I can already tell that this story will make me very angry at the world.
Because the world is full of idiots who overlook something as good as this, because they cannot recognise truly good writing when they see it.
To be fair, the first few scenes weren't all that great. You have a bit of a problem with purple prose, at one point you had Lelouch "descending down the stairs", which is redundant, and Lelouch and Suzaku's introduction scene was very annoying to get through, because you had all this description of their characters, but didn't give their names from the start. I think it would have been much better to just give their names, so the reader can properly focus on their dialogue and appreciate how this Lelouch and Suzaku are different from canon, instead of trying to figure out who is who.
But otherwise? Lovely. It's clear from the start that you have a plan, you know where this is going. The story just gently takes me by the hand and guides me through the plot, and I just want to read more.
| Aynessa chapter 1 . 3/13/2015
This is absolutely fascinating. Why have I never read this before?!
I love how everything parallels in a strange reversal of the canon, but is still thoroughly believable. I can actually see Shirley being so headstrong that she jumps into a resistance fight, with Rivalz clumsily tagging along. Very curious to see what Lelouch's role in this will be, and very amused and excited to see Euphie taking CC's place (so to speak). For a moment I'd thought it might be Anya- never even thought of Euphie until Suzaku realized who it was. Truly excellent storytelling!
| HE-SpecOps chapter 18 . 11/10/2014
Your story is awesome. Lots of things make it better than canon, and only a few make it bad.
In "bad", it's that Lelouch is even more of a wimp than Suzaku in canon, while he wasn't alone for seven years. It means that C.C. and orange screwed up (and that is blasphemy). Kaguya is also a bit too much of a tyran toward Lelouch (unless she acts that way because she sees that he wants penance and flees being responsible of anything, if that's the case, don't put the explanation with her POW too early)
The OCs are weird. You were really good in reinventing nearly all the cast (gino, kewel and the female knights of round are the only ones that felt weird) but the new european and russian ones lack depth (screentime, really, but until that chapter they were really council of ominous vagueness. Tropes are not bad but it wasn't the greatest strength of Code Geass in the begining)
The plot -nothing to say. Awesome. Original. Keeps the feeling but creates a new story. Not one monolitic enemy but many factions.
The shout-out and cameo are mixed i'd say. I truly wanted to see Onizuka again after his cameo, but the product placement coming in waves broke the WSOD along with the fourth wall (alley fighter 4, really ?)
There is something as overkill if it overkills your story.
And i can't imagine Luciano Bradley as anything but the joker (without make up) especially at the end of 18.
| SoaringEagle13 chapter 18 . 10/15/2014
Really loving this so far. I hope this fic is still alive. I really want to know what happens next.
| Eclipse130 chapter 4 . 10/7/2014

| Ruinous Crow chapter 18 . 10/2/2014
It's been quite a while since you last updated, and I understand life and lack of motivation, but I was wondering if it might be possible to post your plans for this story if it is indeed abandoned? I must admit I'm dying to know what happened in Lelouch's and Suzaku's past.
| Siyavash chapter 18 . 9/29/2014
Waaaah! Not only abandoned but abandoned on a cliffhanger!
Really wish you would return to this story.
| Doom Marine 54 chapter 16 . 9/23/2014
So in your mind regardless of which side Lelouch is on he is always in the right and Suzaku is always wrong?
| Guest chapter 18 . 9/13/2014
