I love this line
((The dead hold him. But so does she. Caught between two worlds.)) very true .. *nodnod*

"He's killed the wrong man. For the wrong woman."
Oh, wow. This whole fic was beautiful. Sad and making me want to hope but not be sure if I can...lovely writing as usual.

You already know I like this. I like how you handled giving just enough cues so we know where Jane is when he's thinking this or that.
A favourite bit:
"Another father gets to welcome home his little girl. (But only one, only half of the whole, and how will she fare, one half of her life gone, a space beside her always filled with a ghost?) A family in their grief, and himself outside, and looking in."
| PhoenixWytch chapter 1 . 8/24/2009

Wow! Pretty powerful stuff there, SpaceAnJL! Yes, please stay far away from season 2 spoilers - I'd really like to see where *you* go with things.
I think this was my favourite bit, just for the poignancy of it all:
". . . until the kind voices come to take the pain away, silver needles turning out the lights in the memory palace..."
