I wonder if Vernon and Petunia will get suspicious of Dumbledore just showing up and maybe see if they can get into Gringotts to talk to the bank since Petunia probably went with Lily to get her supplies.

at least Petunia realizes that she is needing help and that she could help Harry.

Will Petunia and Vernon have surgery done on Harry's forehead when he is older and tells her that it hurts?

Sheesh, without the canon Harry suffering, you sure dumped a heap of crap on Vernon and Petunia. Don't know about the U.K., but car insurance even before government insurance should come into play, IF were in the USA. Although there is the caps on that, and what an uninsured drunk driver might entail. Then again, it's the U.K., with socialized medicine, so however that comes into play for medical expenses.
THE BLUE COLLAR stuff: Don't forget, if the HOUSE is owned, there are no rent payments or mortage payments, which should boost the standard of living a good amount.

Odd twists, but I'll say no more, since the fic is maybe hiatus or dead anyway.
One odd idea I had, was IF the Dursley's considered whether wizards around the entire world were as dimwitted nutty as the U.K. ones seem to be. It requires shedding of canon training wheels, BUT, it's a possiblity, if "being in a magical school" satisfies the "law/rules", it makes an interesting option and a way to thumb noses at Dumbles, McGonnegal, ecetera, if Harry went off to another school elsewhere in the world. As for Duds, does one REALLY have to go to a BOARDING SCHOOL to get a good education? Other than prestige or tradition, or rubbing elbows with snobs in some traditional highty tighty boarding school, it seems to me perhaps more snob appeal and wasting money than getting a superior education.

Nice so far, a few issues with this chapter however, the first being a authors note in the middle of the chapter that looks like a part of the story, it is quite annoying and about the hospital bit we have over here the NHS or national health service, we pay a tax monthly so we don't need to pay for treatment like what harry may need especially since the Dursleys are working class in this, in Rowlings verse they most likely had Bupa anyway.

I'm sorry to see that this story is on hiatus. It's well written, original, and not filled to the brim with tropes and cliches.
