Very interesting. I picked up a few minor flaws in the writing - 'took' where the word should be 'taken', and such like - but those are minor quibbles, and it was an early-morning drabble, after all.
This monologue is angsty from necessity - what can be expected, really? - but I felt it really suited Silas' character, you seem to have created his 'voice' with relative ease. I find it particularly interesting that in the book, I took his ignorance on the Macabray as genuine, whereas in this story, that same ignorance is merely feigned.
Very well-written and well-characterized. You seem to have given a few fresh layers to a very mysterious character. Poor Silas - this truly reveals the pitiable side of him, a side he seldom reveals.

That was so lovely - great Silas perspective! Good to see inside his head for once. I really like your take on this episode - well done!
