Reviews for Expectations
Kariesue chapter 1 . 10/3/2009
I liked this, but then you always have great stuff. I love how you tossed in a few old friends like Barbara, (even though she was only mentioned) Teddy and of course Frank. One of the great lines was Hardcastle talking about Mark going to Law School. "

I hope you’re not gonna wind up being able to spin a tall one using bigger words.” That was great. Thanks for sharing this.

Okay, this was a much nicer take on that whole "Love, Pain..." idea than the actual script was! You may have used it as a starting place, but the story was entirely your own, and the callbacks to the whole Cherney thing was nicely done. Your writing once again led me to feel the angst along with Mark, right down to feeling sketchy over Hardcastle's violating the laws of nature. :-)

I'm very glad you posted this! And now, I think I'm finally caught up on my reading. Guess you'll have to write another...
JeanneZ84 chapter 1 . 9/19/2009
They are such great friends that naturally at first when Mark saw a woman with Hardcastle he was happy for him but surprised because of the fact he kept her and Milt are so used to watching each others back that of course when Mark got the feeling something was not right he decided to look in to it even if it were behind the judges had to realize the judge had come to know him in side and out and always knew when he was gonna be up to something.

I just thought this was a wonderful story.I had a hard time pulling away from it last night, but I finished it right now.

It'd be nice if they both found someone nice someday.

Hey, I really liked this ... poor Milt, foiled in love again. But the best part of the story was the last bit (aside from the fact that I'm a sucker for h/c), wherein you give a brilliant reason for the fact that Milt doesn't always catch on when old buddies/colleagues have gone to the dark side. Won't repeat it here, because I don't want to give it away, but I loved the rationale and thought it immensely credible.

Also enjoyed the last scene's chat, and the fact they cleared the air, finally, about Mark's conviction.

Nice story and had the feel of an episode. Well done and thank you!

I know that this one isn't high on your list of personal favorites, but I truly enjoyed it. It's a shame to put it this way, but it's a _lot_ better than the original and you've got the guys completely in character throughout. I even buy the sneaking up part from a guy who's so good at it!

It's a good read, and it shows up our guys in a new setting, so what's not to like? Now what about that other "lost" script?
