I really like this first chapter. I think Edmund's reaction to seeing most of the trees gone was very realistic. I also really like how it's from Ed's POV. Good first chapter, and update soon! )

::grins:: I like the twist you added. I can just *see* Edmund reacting angrily to Peter like this (and Peter, at least as he was portrayed in the movie, reacting, as you put it, "like a petulant child"). I also really like how you had Edmund land in the Western Wood (I always thought it neat how the siblings were crowned to the four cardinal directions and to different parts of the land), and assume nothing had changed-only to find out how much it really had.

Of course ::grins again:: I have about a bazillion questions, but I'll start by asking just one for now: out of curiosity, is this linked in some way to Terror Gold? The fact that Edmund immediately recognized the standard and "stiffened" when he did tipped off the memory of that story, and I was just curious if you'd be using the same background story (i.e. the raiders and torture).

I am TOTALLY freaking out! I've written a story with the exact same plot idea! I haven't posted it because there's a lot of gramatical mistakes. So far though the it's been pretty simalre, odd. I'm really going to be interested to see how yours goes.
