![]() ![]() ![]() This made me actually, literally, cry: "Then let me die with you." and "She would be with Hood in the next world; but in this one, her final moments would be all his." The story is so poignant and sad and I love how you bring them together righting past wrongs... And this line was amazing: "God's heart, Marian. Kiss me again. Please." as was this one: "I want to give you everything" SIGH. So beautiful and heartfelt and honest and vulnerable. I love that they find a way to balance their positions and everything "I would not be your ruin." "And I would not be yours." and I'm so curious how it would all turn out. Wow what an ANGSTY EMOTIONAL RIDE. I am exhausted. Very well written. Thank you for posting! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is superb, spot on in every detail of character and history. I felt so badly for Guy! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh god.. Seriously, this is.. this is what I've been searching for. I mean.. I love this pairing but most of the stories I read about them on this site aren't my thing. But this...Wow! It's realistic! How Marian is suffering, how she doesn't really react and just ... well, she lives but she's not really alive. How Guy treats her, how he still loves her and wants to protect her and starts to accept and respect her and her ideals more and more, I think this is wonderful. He is still the same, he doesn't like everthing she does, he is still moody and jealous but.. he understands that now and he came back to her. God, no, I have no idea.. I really don't know how to express myself right now, I just loves so much about this and.. Argh! How you're taking your time with their relationship, how Marian is still the same after everything that happens, how she doesn't want to give up, how she still wants to fight... And how she gets Guy to understand her position. (And how he really tries to listen to her and understands her..) I loved this. :) Sorry for not being able to actually say what I liked and for probably making many mistakes, but.. Well, I liked everything. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is actually incredible. No easy fixes. No short cuts. I love you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was brilliant. I truly love how you worked in history. Very well done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I enjoyed this AU story very much. Really well done. Believable characterizations. Looking forward to reading more from you! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well done, Lady Kate! This is very beautiful, and very believable. I like the way Guy respects her, even when he does not agree with her or does not like her choices. It is really impressive, even in our times. I guess it can only mean that, being a middle Age man - and a powerful one, as the Sheriff of Nottingham -, he really loves her. And it shows how much he has evolved as a human being because of this love. I just have one remark on your fine story: Marian tells him the truth about everything that happened before, she says she was drawn to him, that she cared for him, that she was pride of him when he stayed by her side in Nottingham during the siege. I know it is evident that she loves him, but she never says it. On the contrary, when Guy says that Marian still loves Robin, she agrees with an "always". A simple "I love you, Guy" would work miracles, I guess. Guy is so needy that I almost can see the way he is always waiting to hear it. I know I would be. |
![]() ![]() Good one! Loved it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well told and believably in-character. Nice work! |
![]() ![]() oh! you killed everyone except the two of them! I felt terrible when Allan was dead, but the story was so amazing that i forgave you almost instantly after i finished reading it. you are such a talented writer and i hope you will write more G/M in future. Off to read your other fics! |
![]() ![]() You have harnessed the intensity and cool demeanour of Guy as well as maintaining his insecurity, arrogance and warmth. Marian's motives were well planned out and her actions spoke well of her morals as a character, promoting the idea that she would not just fling herself at Guy and remembering her love for Robin in a way that does not taint the marriage to the new Sheriff Honestly, the love scenes were, well, lovely but fiery too and flowing, describing a natural and darkly magical ritual. When he returns to Locksley to sleep because he will not sleep in a bed without her in it... *happy sigh* I loved the phrase 'fire-tinted' : ) Guy's kindnesses towards Marian throughout the fic as well as his physical and mental trials once he is told all the 'truths' make a fan's heart sing. You have also ribboned his characteristic physicalities, most memorably when he realises he is crying at the start as Marian mourns. In fact, that whole description of the salt, the cold wall, his forehead, realising his tears... It was really beautifully done : ) The only qualm I had was that Guy's speech was sometimes too refined, but honestly it added to the art of your writing and wasn't too distracting. Thank you for a realistic and heartwarming rendition . |
![]() ![]() ![]() Omg this is amazing :D you are such a great writer, and I love the relationshop between Guy and marian xx |
![]() ![]() ![]() So I just realized that I never commented on your story even though I read it a few months back. I have to admit that my heart was slightly broken when I read that you killed all of the gang off, but the story is SO well written that it pulled me right in. You know me-I'm a Robin/Marian fan more than a Guy fan, but I still can appreciate many aspects of Guy's character. And you captured that so well here. The story is written beautifully-it all flows together smoothly. I flinch when I think of my story after going through yours! Do you think you will do any more RH fanfiction in the future? |
![]() ![]() ![]() It looks like a challenge to review properly that one after so many did, and they pointed all the details I enjoyed, the bleak start, the convincing development of the plot, Guy, Marian very much in-character and yet somewhat improved. I read "The Lady of Nottingham" when I first got into the RH fandom (I have to cure from season 2's end!) and it became right away one of my top favourites. I'd just say that the part that's moved me the most takes place in the forest, when Marian, at last, tells Guy all about the past (the poor man must have felt like a brick wall hit him!). This would cement, if they kept up that way, their relationship, something they failed in the show. And too... the sex scene is also a love scene and that feels good here. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sigh. This was lovely. Brilliant characterization and satisfying ending. Thank you for this. :*) |
