| Nutterfly chapter 1 . 11/11/2009
This is a very well-written story, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The author did an excellent job of telegraphing the basic problem early on; far from being a give-away, this leads the reader on to find out just how Sam will manage to solve it. The descriptions are excellent. I could easily picture in my mind the lonely lighthouse on the tall outcropping of rocks. And I learned a lot about how a lighthouse actually works! Clearly a great deal of research was done before writing, and it pays off by presenting us with a clear image of the necessities and requirements of the dilemma. By periodically switching the scene back to PQL HQ the author builds the suspense quite effectively; the actions there are important, but we’re left wondering how Sam will solve the problem-of-the-moment. Great story!
| Irish Story Teller chapter 2 . 9/22/2009
I enjoyed the prologue.
I can understand that there were times Sam most likely wished that there would be easy leaps. I feel bad for Sam with his fear of heights and where he is.
