Touzai Touzaikaze?
So the White Wind, Xiangchen's followers and Sabodei's tribe, are the precursors of the Air Nomads? The ones who raided everywhere. Sooo Air Nomads were a race of benders living in a cult atop mountains... damn that's a cool revelation. I so wanna see Aang learn of this

Dai Li hooking up with Joo Dees, women literally under mindcontrol, is quite disgusting.

Mooooore airbenders! Hope Eshe and Kuei get along, that poor nerd. I wonder, does it detract from Aang that there are more airbenders? Though he is certainly the last Air Nomad, since all these others are completely different cultures

Ursa's condition is so sad. I love Shidan hope he meets Aang again. So the big baddy of this AU is Koh? At least a better choice of ATLA devil than Vaatu.
They don't really explain why after the siege of the north ending the war is impossible. Surely a great defeat is a better reason to quit while you're ahead. Of course, they're dragon-children, so they're insane and human thinking is inappliccable.

Great chapter
Kindle-the-Stars chapter 91 . 1/28/2022
I loved this story, fantastic writing - really enjoyed all of the detail about the spirits and how they work, which clearly involved lots of research, and how you developed the characters!

Great job, thanks for writing!
Guest chapter 39 . 1/25/2022
So Xiangchen was either an Air warlord infamous for raiding the Fire Nation and forcing the Earth Kingdom to give them tithes with his tribe a thousand years back, or destroyed said tribe. Likely the former
Guest chapter 38 . 1/25/2022
I wonder if Iroh actually wants to make kids with Amaya. Isn't she too old? Kinda begs the question, if benders can get centuries old, do female benders still go into menopause in their late forties? Or are they fertile for far longer?

What did Azula mean by "not even the children?" The kids of other nations in the Fire Nation clans? Surely not. I guess Zuko's refugee colony.

This story gets better and better
Easily one of the best fics I've ever written so far, just as good or even better than Distorted Reality
You're amazing
Guest chapter 36 . 1/25/2022
Did Shirong punch Azula in the tit? Hahaha

The Great Betrayer is probably Sozin? Or Kuzon? I'm guessing Kuzon

Damn Ty Lee is an airbender! Awesome! Hope Aang can meet his kin in the Fire Nation
Guest chapter 35 . 1/24/2022
So Monk Xiangchen was probably some sort of Air Nomad warlord responsible for wiping out a pocket of airbenders descended of both Earth and Air?

Read your authors' notes, I'm pretty sure killing off only the waterbenders, thus completely erasing that part of the Southern Water Tribe culture, is still genocide, at the very least cultural genocide. Plus it at also resulted in devestation to the nonbending populace
Guest chapter 34 . 1/24/2022
You aks whether the invasion fleet deserved getting nuked by Koizilla. Yes they did. Better to nuke a remorsless fleet with a remorseless force of nature than let them kill an entire nation.
Guest chapter 33 . 1/24/2022
Azula povs are such a treat

So, for people of other nations, firebenders (or royal ones) are literally not human, or as human as they are.

So Sozin's widow is gonna hunt yaoren, not Aang?
Guest chapter 31 . 1/23/2022
I liked the gaang's horror at Air Nomad culture. It really gets glossed over how parents are separated from their children for religious reasons, and shows how much of a child Aang is for calling it grownup stuff. Of course we don't know everything, like if the mothers are forced to give them up or if they volunteer. Or what happens if moms don't wanna be separated, do they get kicked out of the temple? Top notch

That "I don't know you at all" gave me goosebumps.
Guest chapter 29 . 1/22/2022
Kinda weird how firebenders apparently need clans/families even more so than waterbenders even though the Water Tribes are the ones known for their unbreakable sense of community.

Isn't the Avatar incarnated as a human in every lifetime in order to understand humanity? How is that accurate when the fire Avatar is the only firebender free of this whole loyalty and clan thing? Doesn't that mean the Avatar can't quite understand the Fire Nation? It's Roku's own nation, and because he's the Avatar he can't understand one of the pillars of his own culture? That sounds counter-productive.

I wonder, are truly all firebenders part dragon? That at least explains the whole loyalty thing, being human-mythical beast hybrids. But that makes the Fire Nation imo unnecessarily weird and unrelatable. It's like you pick and choose where the Fire Nation is comparable to real world colonial powers and where it's completely different, even by ATLA standards.
Guest chapter 28 . 1/21/2022
I like the cultural exchange happening between the water siblings and Toph, about how different their concepts of honor and truce are from each other's and the Fire Nation.

I know Zuko blamed Roku for keeping Kyoshi's one Fire Lord custom, but I doubt the best friend of the Fire Lord wanted to end his dynasty.

Definitive proof Iroh was unaware of Sozin's Comet. Though I'm not sure why he thinks Aang would be that day's deciding factor. Unless Aang learned fire at that time or was in the Avatar State, he'd be screwed.

So I'm assuming, since Byakko had Kuzon, friend of the Air Nomads and rider of dragons, as its lord, there are Air Nomad descendends and maybe even airbenders there, hiding on the mountain. it might explain why Iroh thinks he and Zuko are the best hope for airbending

So I assume giving a fake promise dishonors or brings honor into question or the one who was lied to. That, or he was reminded of his dad.
Guest chapter 27 . 1/21/2022
Suddenly Kyoshi sounds like a worse Avatar than Korra. Damn
explains a lot
