| eva-david chapter 1 . 11/4/2012
I loved it, even though it was so sad... Losing someone to cancer is... Not easy... I'm glad they had each other. :*)
| USAFChief chapter 2 . 11/2/2011
Two long years since you wrote this and for some unknown reason I have never reviewed it. I was looking for something special to read when this came under my cursor...it meets the "special" requirement to a tee. Very well written with sadness and hope. You really have a way with words.
I thank you very much for posting this. It is lovely.
| tigerlily25 chapter 1 . 3/14/2010
I never reviewed this, and I'm not quite sure why. And it might be supremely pointless anyway because you know all my thoughts, but I thought you deserved a 'ding'. :)
Yes, it's heart-wrenchingly sad and a little bittersweet, but reality isn't always what we want it to be - and really I don't know how it could end any other way. There's enough hope here - Ziva and Tony possibly getting back together, the things left unsaid between McGee and Abby, and Gibbs finally finding peace after a long hard road - to colour the grey with something tentative and yellow.
I especially loved Tony's 'To Rule 50', and Fornell keeping a vigil by the bed while he waited for them to arrive. And this line just broke my heart:
'Tim thinks of Kate and Jenny and Ducky, the family that Gibbs had had and the family that he had lost, and hopes that somewhere, somehow, in all the different beliefs about God, that somebody is right.'
Lovely and sad and (most importantly) *real*, from beginning to end. xx

Hello...this story was awesome...it made me cry and laugh and it captures everything the team stood for
| fanoftiva chapter 1 . 9/26/2009
Is it bad of me that I'm more sad about Tony and Ziva not working out than about Gibbs dying? I decided they make up and stay together. Sad but nice job.
| meb chapter 1 . 9/26/2009
I usually don't like sad fics but when they're as well written as this one, they're easier to take. Wonderful job.
| BabyDavidaDiNozzo chapter 2 . 9/26/2009
Aw, that was so sad. I loved it, though! :)
| Swingflip chapter 1 . 9/26/2009
I absolutely love it! Not, of course, Gibbs dying, but how you brought the characters together. The Tony/Ziva part is really sweet, and the end with Abby and Tim.
| mia58 chapter 1 . 9/25/2009
Like all your stories, this is written beautifully. You convey thoughts and emotions so perceptibly in a simple but eloquent manner.
I think, however, this is the saddest story that you've written. Both Tiva and McAbby failed to find happiness. Breaks my heart. So I choose to believe that both couples take this depressing event and learn that life's too short to waste rare opportunities for love and happiness. Hope you're OK with that.
| holikimaela chapter 1 . 9/24/2009
This was actually emotionally difficult to read, it's sad that they all disintergrated. You write beautifully. )
| Mrs Weasley chapter 1 . 9/24/2009
Gah...it's a wonderful story but it's SO SAD! My heart is breaking for Tim...and Abby...and Tony...well, for just about everyone.
Any chance of more? I'm a sucker for a slightly more uplifting ending...
| chiroho chapter 1 . 9/24/2009
I can almost feel the melancholy flowing from this story as I read it. You've done a wonderful job catching a future possibility from five years on, with each of the team coming back together for someone they loved as a father. The way you describe the team rallying around each other, but also around Gibbs, is so eloquently done.
What I really like though is how you've left it up to the reader to see between the lines and interpret what the situation is. Why does Ziva not greet Tony? What happened between then? Why does Abby's daughter have bright green eyes? And then you leave us with a last line about a season for everything. It was just the right ending.
| Mitford chapter 1 . 9/24/2009
Lovely, just so lovely
| M E Wofford chapter 1 . 9/24/2009
Sad yet lovely.
