"..With a panicked "eek"-sound slipping out between my petrified lips, I hit send before I could change my mind and hide under my pillow forever."-can't tell you how many times I have done this and it made me so happy to see this included. Haha great job!

Sexy times, indeed! I love that we are getting some E&B alone time. I also like the fact that they are both realizing how deep their feelings are. Now if we could just get Maddie completely onboard, my little family will be complete!
I know I'm jumping ahead. I shall just wait for more sexy times, sexy times without any under clothes it seems!
Thanks for another great chapter, BB!

so, interesting chapter, uhu :D Madame is feeling unpleasant being alone and in love, but that seemed to be remedied by the end of the chapter :D And why does everyone always forget you can buy stuff when you forget it? ;)

I'm finally getting my sloppy ass to reading again ;)
Loved this bithday chapter :) And so did she, although there were some surprises :D

I love it! Bella and her realizations in the hotel room was perrfect. She was so cute when Edward got back to the room. I have a feeling Edward had some of the same realizations himself. Great job...thanks so much! Happy Valentine's Day!

I’m getting seriously jealous about their sexy-times, it’s just so unfair. Real life doesn’t really match up to fiction, unfortunately :)
Loved Bella’s ILY epiphany, and I’d guess Edward has come to the same conclusion, they haven’t said it out loud yet but it’s just a question of time. They really need this weekend, for the first time since they met they have uninterrupted adult-time just for themselves, so far they have had to do with a few sleepovers or quick “lunches” now and then. If I remember correctly there will be some serious talking as well... Demetri Dog Poo, huh? Doesn’t sound too charming. Dinner however could be VERY interesting.
And thanks for the rec for Dear Mr Masen – read the whole story yesterday evening/night (I have the most horrendous sleeping habits nowadays :). Loved the story, it’s funny, witty, intelligent, and very different altogether.
In my turn I would like to recommend two of the many stories I follow right now, Unexpected Circumstances by Savage7289 and My Viking by sheviking. Both are period fics picturing Edward as a medieval prince and a viking warrior respectively. Check them out, you won’t regret it.

Do you have something against coconuts? Two of your Bella’s hate coconuts (yes, I did read a couple of chapters of Up to Scratch, and have to agree with whoever asked if you were high on heavy medication :). Ridiculous is almost too mild a description, lol! Coconut is yummy, btw.
“The reaction I was having right now really didn't bode well for what would happen once she started dating. Luckily, she'd be in her thirties before that happened, and the most that would take place before she got married would be a chaste peck on the cheek, but still.” Edward, Edward, Edward… he really has no idea what’s in wait for him!
If you keep the dates canon it’s now September (Bella’s birthday) but unless my schedule is all messed up they met in April, which should mean both Maddie’s and Edward’s birthdays passed without mention?
"She ran under a bus, and they had to put her down. I don't know where they put her, though". Hahaha! Kids really are unpredictable, you never ever know what’s going to plop out of their mouths (I have 3 so I should know).

"...and unlike the one before him, Edward knew..." Definitively a less-than-stellar ex-boyfriend in Bella's past. BUT, if Bella went without sex for 14 months, then that relationship must have ended some 9 months before whatever it was happened that made her move 5 months ago (normally no dry spell with a boyfriend around). This opens up for a whole lot of interesting speculations. Perhaps Bella ended the relationship, the ex turned stalker and caused the clusterfuck that turned her life upside down. Well well, remains to be seen.
Maddie called Bella "daddy's girlfriend"! I'd say the "soon" will happen quite soon, and the ILY's are just lurking around the corner as well. Jake should get a very large bone or something, he's done such a good job of buttering Maddie up!
How does one actually make American mac and cheese, that's apparently everyone's favorite dish, at least in every second fanfic story? I like both macaroni and cheese, so Icould give it a try.
| newborntwifan chapter 9 . 2/10/2011
Your explanation of why Maddie doesn't have a mom was fantastic. What any parent should say if they were in the same situation.
| Salanna chapter 11 . 2/10/2011
More clues on Bella’s past – “It's not the same, it's not the same, don't even think about that right now, it's not the same, Edward would never-... don't even think about it, Bella! Stop it, stop it, stop it, right now, just stop it. It's not the same. ” So uptil now we have hints on a (fatal?) car accident and perhaps domestic abuse? At least that’s how I read it.
However strange this sounds, I feel some kind of sympathy for Emily, however much I disagree with her behavior. If her mother’s creepy behavior now is anything to go by, Emily must have had hell growing up, and on some level is probaby scared shitless of becoming like her own mother. Running away was somehow both a very selfish and unselfish thing to do, however little sense that makes. She didn’t want to hurt Maddie and Edward by staying, but ended up hurting them nevertheless by leaving. I know zero about psychology, but this is the impression I got. Having therapy would have been a way better option than running away though, but for that to work Emily would have had to realize she was far from fine.
To avoid any further phone calls from stalker Grandma, why not just get rid of the house phone and the answering machine? Where I come from (Finland) answering machines have become obsolete, and house phones are getting rare as everyone has mobiles. No house phone or answering machine no worries about Maddie hearing the messages as she can’t access Edward’s mobile or email.

ooooh dinner sounds like it is going to be deeeelicious!
| Salanna chapter 10 . 2/9/2011
Grandma? Didn't see that coming (haven't really consider who the she-devil witch would be, but Grandma certainly wasn't among the suspects). I was right though about it not being Emily, yay me.
Have to agree with what was said about you on Fictionators: "Vican writes kick-ass sexy times, that somehow succeed in being hot as hell and amusing as fuck". Case in point here: "I didn't want to be gentle and slow tonight. I wanted us to be rough and hard and needy. I wanted us to end up in a sticky, sweaty tangle once it was all over, gasping for air and unable to even fucking speak for several minutes ... and onwards. And two minutes later: "Maybe if she sucked me off more often, I could get some practice on being able to multi-task. That seems like a legit enough reason to request daily blow-jobs."
Apparently I'll have to take a look at Up To Scratch at some point (as if I wasn't reading enough stories as is it already...)
| Salanna chapter 9 . 2/9/2011
"When I'm grumpy I tend to exaggerate everything" - you don't say, we would never have guessed. Grumpy sweaty Edward is quite hilarious, I just love your way with words and your sense of humour :) Jungle gyms are actually quite safe, they are filled with rubbery stuff with rounded corners, my son loves it as well, but for an over-protective dad nothing probably feels safe!
Edward really did a great job answering a very, VERY difficult question - no parent should have to explain to their child why the other parent decided to walk away and leave them behind.
I'm been meaning to ask several times - what kind of company does Edward run? He's quite the big boss apparently and very well off, but can still manage to keep reasonable office hours, picking up Maddie round 5 every day which I believe is not SOP for high-end managers. Did he ever have a nanny for Maddie when she was very young, otherwise I wonder how he managed work and taking care of a six month old baby.
And what does Rosalie do for a living? Don't remember that ever being mentioned?
| Salanna chapter 8 . 2/9/2011
"Operation Match-Making was finally going according to plan." Hahaha, so not. And what the f*ck can happen in a supermarket to cause that kind of reaction? Really? Methinks we have four parts sexual tension and one part hurt pride here, and two stubborn as hell people dealing with it!
