|Reviews for Not The Half Blood Prince|
| missgsmith51 chapter 2 . 4/15
"None of the really clever women that I know or have known over the years (and in my profession I met many) none have even contemplated going out on a date with some one who was as idle, bad tempered, and unintelligent as the character of Ron Weasley let alone getting married to some one with such a low IQ."
If the above statement is true, I find myself wondering how you managed never to hear of the wildly popular book from the 1980s, Smart Women, Foolish Choices. Beautiful, talented, otherwise-intelligent women dating and even marrying colossal jerks is a VERY common occurrence - apparently common enough that a book was written to address that very problem. Lest I seem biased on this subject, I know good-humored, attractive, otherwise-intelligent men who are equally capable of marrying women who are jerks - or is that "jerk-ettes"? Stupidity, it seems, is not confined to one gender.
Well, old Pet certainly netted it out to Hermione and Tonks. I hope it does some good for Harry.
| ThunderSphinx chapter 7 . 2/8
I truly hope Harry doesn't spend the rest of his life as a useless farmer.
Harry needs to do something important with his life, not cutting hay!
| ThunderSphinx chapter 9 . 2/8
You shouldn't insult Merope Gaunt so much. She was abused physically emotionally, psychologically, and sexually. It had it far worse than Harry ever did.
She wanted to escape and was desperate. It's not her fault.
| ThunderSphinx chapter 2 . 2/8
There wouldn't be 7 Horcruxes dude. Had the diary Tom Riddle have actually succeeded, the newly created Tom Riddle would not have been true flesh and blood. It would have been temporary. That Tom Riddle would have then searched for the true Voldemort and would have performed a ritual restoring him to life. In fact, it may have even possessed Ginny's body. No way the fearsome Dark Lord would want to remain in a child's body. Hence, it being only temporary.
Remember, the Horcruxes are completely subservient to the main piece of Voldemort's soul. Think of a tree, with Voldemort's main chunk of soul being the trunk, with the other pieces of Soul being like branches. The trunk controls the branches and the branches need the trunk to survive. Plus, the trunk has the added benefit of being unable to die without each and every tree branch being destroyed.
I really love the Horcrux idea. Besides, J.K. Rowling hinted at Horcruxes in both Chamber of Secrets *AND* Goblet of Fire. In fact, J.K. Rowling was originally going to have Voldemort inform Harry about Horcruxes in the 2nd book, Chamber of Secrets, but she changed her mind at the last minute.
You're crazy if you think someone else wrote those last two Harry Potter books lol. And this coming from a MASSIVE Harry/Hermione (Harmony) fan.
| ArabellaTepes chapter 8 . 1/11
Another thing i didn't mention about the whole 'forgiveness business' was that hermione never put harry through any kind of test, wasn't upset with him, just took him back like she always did.
And you brushed his lack of loyalty off as some kinda "boys will be boys" bullshit as if that makes it all better.
Man i'm just upset about how overly cruel you were to hermione, she didn't deserve it
| ArabellaTepes chapter 9 . 1/11
I wanted to like this story, really. but overall you were just too harsh on hermione. Almost made me think you didn't like her at all, and made me wonder why she was even harry's love interest to begin with.
And don't get me started on how you just brushed right on over harry's consistent loyalty to ron over her. As if that didn't deserve just as much criticism.
But no, no one to badger him, no one to make him feel like the worst piece of shit on earth for doing exactly what made everyone attack hermione. Multiple times.
Well, no one but luna of course. But it doesn't at all compare to the thorough lashings hermione had to endure.
True she abandoned him for almost a year i believe, but you were hinting at that being dumblefuck's doing, correct?
Where was the rest of the explanation for it?and if it indeed was his doing, why didn't she recieve the same pass his family did?
And if it wasn't, why speculate on it as if it were a hint, then drop it altogether without further explanation because 'reasons'?. Reasons apparently being that hermione just needed to be bashed on the entire story right?
Because let me tell you, i almost didnt like her, till i realized half way through the story you were just being unnecessarily unfair to the poor thing.
Also there was very little relationship development from the forgiveness point(which was way too quick considering all the misunderstandings that transpired)and then you rushed right through the end.
Why did hermione get a staff in the ritual if it took harry all but 2 seconds to defeat old voldie and 50 plus death eaters to boot?
Where was the battle? You just said "fuck it, let's make harry an all powerful gary stu and leave out any battle excitement."
Dont take this as a flame, i'm just frustrated at the fact that this could have turned out much better than it did. Unfortunately, i'm just disappointed.
There are just as many things wrong with this story as there are in the original.
| torrent56 chapter 1 . 6/20/2016
It would have been nice to see some Harmony fanfics without Ron bashing and acknowledge the fact that yes the Trio are in fact best friends even though sometimes they might treat each other badly.
You just helped to support Melissa’s point in the 2005 Mugglenet interview after HBP was released. I will quote the relevant section for you now.
Melissa Anelli: I have to tell you, I'm looking forward to [this coming out], because, you know, a lot of this is predicated upon a necessary hate for another character. Ron has suffered horribly at the hands of Harry/Hermione shippers.
JKR: That bit makes me very uncomfortable, actually. Yeah, that bit does make me uncomfortable.

Always a good read.

| Araytigre chapter 9 . 5/14/2015
Such a simple yet rewarding life is that of a Farmer, regardless of the hard work involved. Truth be told, Harry wouldn't have it any other way, just another day with the Woman that he Loves, his Family, and his friends. Thank You. TTFN
| old-crow chapter 9 . 4/22/2015
Like all of the really well-written tales, this one left me wishing for a bit more.
All the best,
| 1ori ann chapter 1 . 2/2/2015
Why was he 'allowed' to go to Mandy ' s house? Dumbledore is still alive; I would think he would control that situation also.
| Mari Wollsch chapter 9 . 1/1/2015
| nashpar chapter 4 . 12/25/2014
Harry shouldn't have acted as though it was Hermione's fault that she chose Ron and to say those hurtful words to her. Harry has chosen Ron over Hermione since as early as year 1 yet Hermione accepted him back. remember the broomstick? after the first task he should not play the pity party. he is not a saint too.
just my thoughts
| Dementor149 chapter 9 . 11/2/2014
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your story. Your tales provide a unique perspective on things. My only complaint is that Harry seemed to forgive Hermione a little too quickly. Not that he wouldn't have forgiven her but that things seemed to normalize very quickly. In my experience damaged trust doesn't rebuild quite so quickly.
I really enjoyed that the Durlsey's became more supportive of Harry accepting him as family. That was a very nice touch.
