I'll admit this is a heartwarming chapter and it's nice to see parts where the gang steps back from their official roles and just be regular people. I'll admit I kinda laughed when the chapter ended just as the press conference began. Still, I enjoy reading the smaller things in this story. Now we see a lesser-known, background character in Neu Kazaefsky playing the spokesperson for Durandal.

Not much is known about Kazaefsky personally, only that she's a member of the Council and that she supports Durandal and his "moderate" policies (As if anything Durandal does is considered moderate). With people like Kazaefsky, I'm kinda curious as to how much the Plant Supreme Council is in the dark about Durandal's actions or are they aware of them? Despite the Council seemingly being "uninvolved", they are still the governing body of the Plants (unless they pulled off a Star Wars and granted Durandal "emergency powers" to exercise during wartime). Maybe that's why for the most part, Durandal seems to be the only one directing ZAFT's war effort without the council looking over his shoulder.

Still, I'm curious about Durandal's lack of presence and what would be the next steps for the gang to take. One of the things I've noted from the show was the Archangel being commissioned into Orb's military once again and Kira being made an Admiral before they all head into space. Regardless, I'm all for this, and your efforts. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This chapter felt like a little too much filler and less on the actual announcement I get you trying to be funny in a tense moment but it would have been better for them to go immediately to the bridge when they were told to to hear the announcement So we can read about it instead of waiting for the next chapter.

First off, really great chapter and a wonderful story overall. I'm delighted you have included characters that have existed outside the main story like Rena and highlighted her ingenuity in her duel against Shin. Sometimes I feel like the characters that are Naturals outside of the main cast, didn't receive as much recognition in the anime for their talents.

As for Shin, I continue to be impressed with the highlight of key traits of Shin's characterization, even if they're perceived as negative. Whether traits are perceived as positive or negative, they are still traits that the characters embody within themselves. Like Shin's constant Fixation on a single opponent is one of his biggest weaknesses (and there are many of them) especially in this fight. Overall, I really enjoy reading Shin's character arc in this story, and in this second half has him in this state of regression (at least that's how I see it as) where his darker tendencies are what's driving him towards a much more bitter fate than in the anime. I enjoy reading this a lot due to how different it is compared to the anime or how elements were added and expanded upon.

As for the Freedom movie, Like most, I enjoyed it a lot, especially the ending moment involving Kira and Lacus that took 20 years to have what other couples in the show have been doing overall (sorry about the rant, I am also a big fan of this pairing). I did enjoy how the movie provided a way that genuinely challenged their relationship and how they overcame the doubt and strife that was in their path.

I'm glad that the movie provided a means of how the Destiny Plan looks like in practice which in my opinion looks like a caste system that is based on genetics in simple terms. Foundation managed to have an economic and technological boon within a year (which is kinda scary if you think about it). But this came with a severe cost of wealth inequality, a crackdown on human rights, and even the killings of their citizens.

It really highlights how true Durandal's colleagues were decades prior on how rigid the Destiny Plan would be if were to be implemented on a mass scale on both Earth and the Plants. Those below within the system would most likely live in poverty with no way to strive for a better life. Most resources would be allocated to those higher within the system to those that are lower. The negatives of the Destiny Plan far outweigh the positives and those like Kira, Athrun, Lacus, Cagalli, and their allies see only the darkness of Durandal's vision. Meanwhile, everyone else sees only the prospect of peace which is only a mere fallacy that he proposes (at least for the time being). I imagine it'll be a real wake-up call for characters like Talia, Lunamaria, Nicol, and most of the Minerva's crew when the time comes. Meanwhile, some "other" characters will probably be more than willing to aid Durandal and his plans.

Anyway, I can keep going on and on what else appealed to me in this story, but this comment has gone on long enough. I apologize for the longevity of this comment and my thoughts. Overall, a wonderful story that is getting closer and closer to the end. I'm all for this, and I'll support whatever you decide to write in this story. I hope to see an update soon and keep up the awesome work.
