While i hate puckleberry as a couple (being a devote quick fan :P) this described what their friendship could be like really well :) Love how it was all related to their pursuits for Finn and Quinn, and Rachel's character was dead on! good job :) love your stories.
| Kkaty chapter 1 . 5/31/2010
I love puck/rachel friendships, its something that seems like they could actually become really good friends
| beautifullybroken9 chapter 1 . 12/17/2009
sarah i just LOVE this story, i had previously read it(and stupidly didn't review), but i just skimmed through it again, i can honestly say that when i read your stories i can see and hear each character's voices. its as if i am reading glee's scrpit or watching it on tv. i have no idea how you can completely grasp their whole being and true nature, but you do it and do it so effortlessly.
rachel's voice in this story is just so damn real it's INSANE. i feel that the ff world should nominate you to take over the writers for glee:] or at least collaborate...
i am looking forward to the glee break and see what you come up with, your creativity is truly endless, when i read your stories i feel like im reading something straight from someone who has either [A) been through it or B) in the situation now.]
my favs are p&q. after i read the ones you have on here i will review.
keep up the wonderful writing.
| Hanchu chapter 1 . 11/8/2009
I think you were able to capture Rachel and Puck's personality very well, especially Rachel's determination in making Puck her friend, and even down to the devious way she tried to get Quinn to notice Puck in the auditorium.
This is a great explanation as to HOW they can eventually be friends. Love it.
| Lila2 chapter 1 . 11/5/2009
as promised, thoughts.
i really liked this. a lot. because i don't dislike puck/rachel but they're not endgame for me. i see what they have in common, but it's exactly the title of this fic: "you can't always get what you want" (so, props for the title!). they want other people and they find that connection with each other. sure, there are some underdog tendencies and self-esteem issues there too, and i could see them together for the long haul. easily see them together. i'd even be fine watching them in canon.
but they don't have the push/pull of puck/quinn or the history. maybe it's because we *don't* know why they like each other that's pulling us in, but i see more sparks between them. more need too. p/q are good at hiding who they truly are and what they want but seem to find some of that together. rachel, on the other hand, is an open book.
so back to this fic...
i like rachel being a good friend. despite her ridiculously selfish behavior at times, she does have a good heart. she doesn't mean to hurt people (even though she does), and she's learning. she's growing and stretching through glee too so it's nice to see the fruits of her (and mr. schue's) labors.
i love that puck can't believe she won't walk away just because he does. i think he needs to see that, a true friend, who sees him clearly and ignores his self-sabotague and looks out for him just because. i won't claim rachel isn't selfishly motivated, but i do think she wants him to be happy and it happens to mean being with quinn. i like how hard she works to help prove quinn's feelings for him. it's a very rachel trait, to throw her all into every task she takes on.
i think you did a great job with their voices, especially's puck's inner monlogue and rachel's dialogue. i also like that you kept with canon. i can easily see this happening post-"mash-up," although "wheels" might change things - every time i write something the next episode suddenly makes it inaccurate. things move so freaking fast on this show.
anyway...excellent job with a puck/rachel fic that's sweet and authentic but still stays true to the characters' canon feelings.

You see, I am now rifling through all your Glee stories in an attempt to find something to satisfy my Puck/Quinn thirst for the break. And once again, this was a lovely story. Rachel was unbelievably in character, as was Finn. You are definitely becoming one of my favorite Glee authors.
| WildIrishRose29 chapter 1 . 10/29/2009
Truly a wonderful read. Very, very in character and beautifully written.
| Desda chapter 1 . 10/29/2009
While I do consider myself a Noah/Rachel shipper...I'd much rather see them interacting in this manner than ignoring each other, so I really enjoyed this. I like how you have portrayed them, definitely an air of authenticity surrounding the whole piece.
| Padfootasaurus chapter 1 . 10/29/2009
Amazing Rachel/Puck friendship story! I love them (:
This was very realistic too and I liked that about it (:
| AHigherOctave chapter 1 . 10/29/2009
This is exactly what I wanted at the end of Mashed-Up. It's so amazing, I just want to hug it. I swear, in the shows it's a real challenge for me to like Rachel but you make it so easy. I'm also glad he didn't break down and tell her about the pregnancy, because that would have gone too far. And I've seen a few fics like that.
And I love the idea of Puck helping Quinn out after her slushie facials. Something tells me I'll like that a lot better than Rachel helping him. :)
