I'll admit, I am absolutely furious about this attempt to foist Draco/Harry on us. There is a solution, however, and I'll wait a couple of chapters to see if anyone things a blood adoption as blood brothers may be done.

If not, I am DONE with this story.

Insert my rants about Headbastards but this time it's for the bastard head of misgovernance.

There is another consequence of the blood adoption, maybe noted later in the chapter, but certainly, as I read it, namely that Harry's descendants will be watched over for the next hundred generations.

This story was, in fact, not noted to be anything more than "friendship", something which is clearly not true.
Beyond this, Draco Malfoy is, in the words of Hermione, a revolting cockroach. Forcing him and Harry together is, in honesty, hideous.

I really enjoyed this. This is the first Harry/Draco story I've read, and I felt like it was a good introduction to the sub-genre. If I read more of them, then it will be because this one was as good as it was.

This was a lovely story.

Needs an epilogue

The law governing English titles doesn't follow male preferenced primogeniture like the succession does.

English titles are generally conveyed to the legal male heirs of the body of the title holder. Women do not inherit. A title may be written with a remainder to allow for a female heir, generally worded as "legal heirs general of the body" but is rarely done. The last time it was done was for Earl Mountbatten of Burma who only had two daughters when he was awarded the title. The wording on his title made his eldest daughter his heir.

The law governing Scottish titles does follow male preferenced primogeniture so under Scottish law, which would explain Draco inheriting the title.

This is an interesting story and I enjoyed reading it this time just as much as the first. However I find myself wishing there was at least a touch of romance between Harry and Draco. Yes, I know Harry is learning many things especially where Draco is concerned, however he seemed adamantly against a romantic relationship. I also highly doubt there will be a sequel at this point, though I would have enjoyed seeing where it could go.
