![]() ![]() ![]() I'm glad Alice addressed the issue of leaving Bella alone after she left. And knowing that she was ill makes it even harder to like that Alice didn't at least check up on her after she left. But it's nice that Alice and Bella got to spend some time together during the holiday. What a lovely Christmas. And I love how playful Edward is and he seems to be truly happy himself. I would like to think I could do that for someone, be able to be genuinely happy even knowing the person was going to die sooner rather than later. Lovely necklace and that it was in his family and yet he gave it to Bella is big. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Visiting Charlie it occurred to me that had either or both Bella and Charlie communicated as they did behind Edward's back when they were living together maybe Bella and Charlie would not have felt so alone in their father daughter relationship or with life in general. Seems like they both are at fault with the way they interacting together or in this case just coexisted in the same home. Edward has me so intrigued. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You can't really judge Bella's parents for being shocked and concerned for Bella's abrupt change of lifestyle and marrying a man they don't really know and what they do think they know is all bad news. Bella can't blame them for their concern. Charlie was at least open to the fact that Bella is an adult and can do what she wants but it was disrespectful in a way for just the manner in which she's dealing with her life right now. I think they had the right to know some of what she's going through. They might be more understanding of her choices. Edward's late night boat ride looking at meteors in the sky was very romantic and gave her one more life experience she would not have otherwise had. When she was filled with such love and affection for Edward and told him she loved him, I was happy for her but also hurt for her knowing, or thinking that Edward didn't feel love for her in return. I'm thinking he is falling in love with her though. I'm so curious to know Edward's secrets. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was happy for Bella that she'd gotten what she so desperately wanted, to be brave enough to go after what made her feel alive. I have to say though, that she could have done this while leaving among her quiet father and annoying mother. It's too bad she feels she wasn't "enough" on her own worth, that she needed a man to set her free. Having said that, this was beautifully written. Edward was everything you'd want him to be. And although I agree with you that lemons are always needed and I don't miss that you didn't get explicit but I do think, since this was the biggest thing ever in new life and she so wanted to be made love to, that the reader needed a little more detail of how he made her feel emotionally and how his touches opened that side to her. But it's your story and if you aren't comfortable writing sex scenes that's ok too. It was lovely as is. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I hope you did write the next chapter in EPOV because really I can't imagine what he's really feeling. He honestly told Bella he didn't love her yet he agrees to marry her, and I know he is kind enough to give her her last dying wish and all that...and he says he could be happy with her...but I still can't make peace with the whole getting married thing is the right thing to do at this point. Yes if she wants to play house for the wee bit of time she has left but I feel humiliated for her, that she agrees to marry a man who says he doesn't love her. It just falls flat for me that she's so desperate. Yeah hell live with him if he agrees to take her in, love him, have your first sex with him, but to marry him...idk, doesn't sit well with me for various reasons. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I did not see Bella asking Edward to marry her. I did see her being honest with him. I did not see Edward saying he did not love her. Even if he doesn't at this point I wished he'd have lied. I know that's so not fair. But her pain and loneliness and her need to be seen and accepted for who she is, loved for who she is for just a little bit longer. idk, this story is making my heart hurt. So what could Edward possible say to this? I mean he was honest saying he didn't love her I think he then should be honest that marrying her would be wrong too. And why would Bella want marriage anyway. I get she wants to be loved have sex before she dies but a marriage is an intent to share ones life not one person's death. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was the loveliest chapter. I felt proud of Bella for being in the moment and sharing in the joy of her friend. I felt sad for Bella too. My heart hurt knowing how alone she'd be once Alice went on to start her beautiful life, leaving Bella to figure things out alone. The picture I had of Bella lighting the candles and lights outside and her stepping back to appreciate the beauty of it all. I'd hope Edward would have snuck up on her and dance among the tiny lights. And then Bella sitting on the floor of the near empty apartment not sure what she'd do with herself now. Very sad. But then the gift from Alice. I'm glad she's so observant and knowing. I can't imagine when Bella will wear that pretty dress. I hope she knocks on Edward's cabin door and sweeps him off his feet with how beautiful she looks. I wished that Alice's insight would have seen Bella struggling with her illness in order to somehow bring her some comfort. And going back to Renee. I don't think she was totally a bad mother at this moment. She seemed really to care what happens to her and she missed her. Is she perfect, no but many parents aren't. She at least cares enough to be offended, hurt by Bella's much deserved rejection. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Two broken people. I wonder who's going to open up first? So proud of Bella, she's not shrinking away from Edward. Just letting nature take it's course... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think it was so admirable how Edward came to watch over Bella at the party and took her away on the bike. Priceless ignoring Rosalie's attentions. And so happy for Bella that she stole that first kiss and went for it. Edward seemed more than willing to extend her kisses. Sweet. I wonder what Edward is thinking about Bella? |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was big that Bella told Edward her story. Well at least most of it. I'm going to guess that Edward has something to do with that band Foster that Bella likes. Maybe he's Foster? I hope Bella tells Edward or someone about her illness. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I do see why Phil came to get Bella. This is so out of character for you that they are worried she's in over her head. Had Bella had an adult conversation with them, prepared them, been honest with them, then they wouldn't be jumping to conclusions. I do see she needed to break free from her closed in life but she allowed all this time. You get treated the way you allow others to treat you and all that. But better late than never. She wants this so good for her to stand her ground but at some point soon she ought to go and talk to her parents and tell them exactly what's going on with her and how she wants to deal with it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Although moving in with Alice seems like a very freeing thing for Bella, she's doing it because someone wants it for their own selfish reasons. Alice wants the company of Bella because she's lonely when her boyfriend is away. What happens when Jasper comes home for the weekends? But in the end this gets Bella outside her boring box of a life. And then there's Edward. I hope Bella doesn't continue to keep her 'secret' from her new friends. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bella is no better than Charlie up to this point. Just hiding and never really living. I wonder what Renee and the rest of them think is going on with her for her to react in such a non Bella way. What she said was long overdue though. And what is Alice going to contribute to Bella's life right now I wonder? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh my. It breaks my heart that Bella feels like she ought to keep this illness to herself. How very awful her life sounds anyway but to live with the knowledge she's going to die and not share it with anyone is beyond ok. |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's very sad that Bella lives with this pain and doesn't have anyone she wants to tell. Why doesn't she tell her father? It's like she lacks any amount of self confidence or self worth. Very sad life she leads. |
