| Cascaper chapter 1 . 2/22/2013
No better refuge, indeed! XDDD Couldn't stop grinning.
| Eponine Thenardier chapter 1 . 12/31/2010
Good heavens, that was hilarious...there are no words, mademoiselle, for this piece of genius.
| Insanemistosingsmore chapter 1 . 2/24/2010
this is funny...and largely inapropriate for children...but then again, children wouldn't have READ Les Mis...so I guess it is ok!
| LesMisLoony chapter 1 . 12/15/2009
Hilarious. I love actually seeing the boys go to class. Enjolras's method to force Courfeyrac to go was so great, and then poor Bossuet getting his elbow stuck in the inkwell and having the paper hit him in the head was just too cute. And Courfeyrac's cartoon! My word, what an amazingly patient professor. I love the other students' play too.
| ColonelDespard chapter 1 . 12/8/2009
Completely entertaining - and how you managed to keep it utterly angst-free in a setting that is chronologically mere days away from the barricades and their deaths is remarkable. Courfeyrac completely owns it, as is right, but everyone who puts in an appearance, including bit players like the professor and their fellow students, holds his own. The rumpled curls, the horseplay with Bahorel - gorgeous. Enjolras taking Courfeyrac's hat hostage is brilliant - he knows his lieutenants thoroughly well, and can manage them without harranguing them. Again, you handle his aloofness within the dynamics of the group perfectly.
The scene stealer, though, has to be Marianne and her endowments...of course, I see Cary's illustration when I read this! Courfeyrac does have ample aptitude for disputation and - as one gets in the charter scene - relishes in argument and debate, so the challenge of explaining his picture is one he'd delight in.
As I've said to you, one can but pity any instructor who had to deal with this trio in full flight.
| Mme Bahorel chapter 1 . 11/28/2009
Oh dear god, I don't think Marianne is getting any studying done so long as Courfeyrac is drawing porny political cartoons :)
I particularly enjoy your professor, who cares far more for the meter than for the subject matter of that delightful excerpt. Plus Bahorel deliberately messing up poor Courfeyrac's hair, and Bossuet with his elbow in the inkwell, and Enjolras almost assuredly reminding himself that this is why they never go to class.
(also, "I tend to be in a variety of positions, sir" is complete and utter win *g*.)
This is so much fun.
| MamzelleCombeferre chapter 1 . 11/27/2009
Wow! This was quite hilarious!
