| naomis8329 chapter 14 . 9/25/2012
And that's the rub isn't it... He could've said no, could have stood up and said "Thank you for the offer and all that, but I have another duty to fulfill.", he didn't and some of the blame is on his shoulders. He kept things from Therrin, things she needed to know. He should have discussed all this with her before the Landsmeet but chose not too.
Eamon, Teagan, any of the nobles who knew about their relationship, they should have said something, explained the rules. They didn't, they're just as culpable.
But then we have a king that could, if he wanted to, do something about the discrimination between the mages and non-mages of Ferelden, also about the elves and the discrimination against them. To think that his mother is an elf and I don't quite understand why in the game there is nothing to bring this to his attention or tell him etc etc. But hey maybe the books came after the game lol.
Either way a very sad, thought provoking instalment. I do hope they can come to some kind of understanding.
Next instalment please :)
| Sazei chapter 14 . 9/25/2012
Hm. After reading this I can only say that Therrin is better off with Cullen, maybe he wasn't perfect but honestly Alistair is a complete jerk and acts like a spoiled child in my humble opinion. ;)
Seriougly though, one of my first characters was one who got dumped infront of the others by Alistair after the landsmeet and after seeing all his bad sides I've never been able to see him the same way again.
He does never make a choice for himself and if encouraged to do so he will want to make himself king, resulting in a loss of approval when I supported Anora, not to mention even if he -doesn't- want to be king he will still try to claim the title simply to kill Loghain if he isn't executed.
All of this of course leading to a certain scene after the Landsmeet ending with him bringing up stuff the player could never dicuss with him and he never told in the rest of the game, so with this rant done all I can say is that I have a hard time admiring Alistair these days and mostly are only too happy to send him off to be a wandring drunk or marry him to the queen, with her father being alive just to rub it in. He so totally deserves it. Hope the poor sod stays miserable!
Ah well. Enough for that. For the chapter itself I'm not sure what else can be said except I wish Therrin set Alistair on fire.

Beautifully written full of emotion and filling my head with images and sounds, more so than we fell and see in the game itself. The pain and horror of what was done to the citizens of Ferelden, the anger and mistrust, the love between a man and a woman, and the knowing that no matter what, duty comes first.
Wonderful. Thank you

I am so excited to hear that you've finished this! And poor Alistair-you've really captured how overwhelmed he has to be by what happens at the Landsmeet.
| GlysMari chapter 6 . 8/27/2012
"Nobody gets left behind,"... You bet your bippy Skippy!
| Helena Everbreeze chapter 12 . 4/22/2012
Hi there, I am really enjoying this story, I love the game and the couple. You have done a great job in conveying their feelings please keep writing!
| JessicaJones chapter 12 . 4/19/2012
I truly adore your Alistair voice. Always. I especially like in this bit how he goes directly from sweet and adorable to rather menacing when talking about how he, personally, wants to kill Loghain. It's rather creepy.
And then the ending... they are so sweet together AHH WHY DO YOU MAKE ME LOVE THEM SO MUCH. How I am dreading this Landsmeet, painfully, even though of course I know what happens.
| Wasagi chapter 12 . 4/16/2012
Your portrayal of Alistair is amazingly good. I love it and this story. XD
I found you through tumblr when I saw someone say that they read all your Amell x Cullen fics, and since that's my current favourite pairing I decided to give it a go and see what your stories were like. Thank god I did...and now Alistair x Amell is slowly creeping up there XD.
Update soon :)
| 1Scarylady chapter 12 . 4/13/2012
What stands out really strongly here is that your 'unhardened Alistair' voice is absolutely perfect.
| Dasque chapter 12 . 4/13/2012
So filled with "Yay, update!" right now.
I particularly loved the parts with Therrin trying to get into armor and the consideration of them both being at the Circle Tower. Don't worry, Therrin-I'm sure he would have at least checked to make sure you were still breathing before stepping over you.
I have to say, even though the end of this story is going to *hurt*, I'm still really looking forward to it. Especially seeing the Landsmeet through Alistair's eyes.
Wonderful work, as always.

How a chapter which is supposed to be serious can make me smile all the way through is beyond me lol. From beginning to the end I've grinned all the way through it.
To know that they will not be able to stay together is heart-rending but inevitable, but to know that they will find love with others more suited to each other is heart warming to be sure.
Thank you for continuing this honey, missed you.
| Vaniel chapter 11 . 4/11/2012
Dude, what's the hold up? It's been the better part of six months now.
| Velanna chapter 1 . 4/7/2012
What's the hold up? It's been months since the last update.
| stainglasspeppermint chapter 1 . 4/4/2012
This story is ruined for me as it has no ending.
| Verris chapter 11 . 2/26/2012
More, please? It's been almost four months? I don't want to see this quality work rushed, but...don't let it die, either?
