This is a great story; with an interesting and complex plot and authentic character voices. I can see how this could be easily adapted into a script for an episode, and wouldn’t we like to see that! The insight into the procreation of the wraith fits well with the few other facts we know. Also Todd’s reaction to the use of the gift to torture and turn victims is quite believable and enhances his character as not quite a “ good “ wraith, but one who has a different code of honour. I really enjoyed the description of the race and it was nice to think John and Ronan might have some time off to have some fun together. The destruction of the settlement and culling of the people was more devastating when it became obvious they had been betrayed. One wonders if the race would ever be run again; another casualty of wraith domination.

I really loved this story. I don't tend to read to many Ronon and Sheppard stories, but this was well written. It's definitely been added to my favorites.

I absolutely loved the bonding time for Ronon and Sheppard in this chapter, of course the Wraith would have to show up and destroy their fun.

Thank you for posting such a wonderful story. I loved it - all of it. The Ronon/John friendship, the concern of everyone back on Atlantis, the race, the wraith kids(!), the concept of feeding and interrogation lessons (pure brillianse right there), John asking Ronon to kill him and vice versa, Todd, Todd's respect and admiration for Sheppard on some level, the canoe instructions(!), John's phobia of people touching his chest.

Oh, and everything else. ;-) I'm sure I left a lot of things out. Thanks again for sharing such a touching story with us.

Such an agonizing dilemma to be faced by John - killing infant Wraith. And now he's in the position Ronon endured in the past. We need a quick rescue!

Poor John. It's hard to think that the situation can worsen and yet it has a hundred fold. I can literally feel the shivers of loathing that must be running up and down his spine...

I loved this story. I was especially pleased with how well you wrote Ronon AND Sheppard's angst, usually most people can only get one or the other, or they don't go as in depth with Ronon as one might hope. The plot was engaging too, not just another "lost in the woods" type story, you touched on some great subjects. I also work at a canoeing camp, and was pretty impressed with your detail about the initial canoe adventure. ;) I hope to see more Ronon-Sheppard or just general team stories (since you also did awesomely at writing McKay and Teyla) in the future.
