|Reviews for For the Sake of a Tudor|
| MinaBlueGlass chapter 3 . 7/12
Oops! I meant "I can see that while your characterization of France may not be exactly wrong, it's not really that accurate either" and "your conception and idea for this story are truly amazing". Sorry for my terrible English; since I am living in the Middle East, it is not my first language. My mother tongue is Persian.
| MinaBlueGlass chapter 2 . 7/12
Ah, one thing. I wanted to tell you that I, as a France fan, can see your characterization of you, while may not bad exactly wrong, it's not really that accurate. I guess you don't/didn't like him (judging by your profile and the feeling I get from this story, and I can be wrong of course), so I don't really expect that. I know he has his flaws, but this characterization of him isn't that accurate in my opinion. I'm sorry if my reviews sound harsh, but I view the characters and the things from this angle. I say all of this, because he was one of the main reasons I opened the link of this fic (and he's my favorite Hetalia character). Anyway, your conception and idea for this story is truly amazing, as I am interested in England's history; though I have to admit I love the history of France more.
| MinaBlueGlass chapter 1 . 6/26
Your story is interesting. It really is, even though it's England centric, and to be frank I've not been much of an England fan for quite a while. By the way, it really amazes me that so many of England lovers criticize France for some things that their amazing character is not any better regarding them.
| MinaBlueGlass chapter 8 . 6/26
This line got me: "France, who always enjoyed kicking people when they were at their lowes"
In all honesty, England isn't any better regarding this.
| HetaHakaiTea chapter 2 . 3/20/2015
Eh, he actually had really good table manners.
He ate a lot, yes, but not messily.
| OpheliacOfCamelot chapter 8 . 11/15/2014
I've gone through fanfictions that I reread everyday for months without reviewing- and I've never felt such an urge to log in and comment. Without needing The Tudors or Philippa Gregory *as I've always found the Wars of the Roses interesting* I love historical Hetalia. I would greatly beg to differ on your view of Queen Bess. Philippa can either be really good at interpreting what is left unknown, or terrible at retelling widely known facts xD If you read The Virgin's Lover, I sure hope you've read others of The Tudor court or Cousin's War series, The White Princess' moral interpretation of Henry VII was pitiful, and The Virgin's Lover's interpretation of Elizabeth was the furthest from accurate. I hated Anne Boleyn too, but even The Other Boleyn Girl did NOT make her justice. Anyway, that being said. I loved this little thing you did because I've always loved Arthur interacting with his monarchs. Spain just made me laugh xD Antonio, stahp. Great job :')
| Guest chapter 5 . 1/7/2013
wow...so much history
I just love historical-talia
about Spain...doesn't he not like (not exactly hate I suppose) England because of the whole armada thing? so he should be a little opposed to this...unless the Spanish really really supported this
or was this before that? I'm not sure... then it doesn't matter
| Artemis1000 chapter 8 . 9/14/2011
What an awesome story! I love the Tudors, so I really enjoyed this walk through their dynasty's history with England.
Such an unhappy time for him, poor England...
| Driinex Laneir chapter 6 . 2/4/2011
Oh my Lord! Pirate!England is my favorite, and this version is absolutely to die for! I agree with France on this one!
| canary chapter 8 . 12/5/2010
pretty good...but your pretty bias aren't you? especially with queen elizabeth.
| nemiah chapter 8 . 7/30/2010
it's so beautiful *sobs*
| AllHeroesWearHats chapter 1 . 7/15/2010
Wow, you have bought my dull history book to life :)
I love the way you have described each queens/kings personality in detail and shown how you see them personaly.
To be honest, I prefered Bess out of all the Tudors, Mary seemed like a crazy nut-job to me with the burning of thousands for just beliving in a diffrent part of her own religion O.O
And I loved how you managed to have some Sealand limelight too. Paternal Iggy is just too sweet v
Great job, thanks for it :D
| KaiiDee23 chapter 7 . 5/5/2010
I think that I've already commented on this but I just can't get it out of my head.
I REALLY love the whole many-people-love-arthur-but-he-has-no-clue 3 SQUE! I wanna die its so good.
You should TOTALLY write a fic abut it C:
| Beautiful Shiny People chapter 8 . 4/29/2010
I loved this! I think you captured the insanity that was the Tudor family. *sigh*
| Hannaadi88 chapter 8 . 3/8/2010
...Cursed swine flue. Bird flue as well, if we are already mentioning flues. And having Sealand come down with a severe case of it and be too proud to beg for help...TT That is just so much like him. The resemblance is criminal in it's accuracy, in fact.
So here ends a fantastic series of spoiled royal brats, pompous kings and frail monarchs. I believe that you were able to capture every single character's essence pretty well. I mean, that chapter about Jane Grey still haunts me. She is somewhat special to me, since it was her who first connected me to the Tudor era. I saw in an art book a picture of her, a few moments before her death. It was just so scary, her expression, and...I vowed to hate Bloody Mary from there after :'D
Back to your story. I enjoyed the beginning with France and the ending with him. Quite a nice way to end a story- like closing a circle. Finishing a cycle. I am not sure if that is a term in English, but whatever '
So, congrats on finishing your first multi-chap! I enjoyed it immensely- the Tudor freak that i am- and i hope to read more by you soon!
