Let me guess: Sakura doesn't want Itachi to know he is the father because she fears he will kill his son too, just like he had his rest of the family, directly or indirectly. She doesn't know the truth of Massacre so her fear makes sound reason. Poor Itachi, it appears even Kankuro knows the identity of Ryo's father.

Little Ryo is talented like Itachi! What would happen when he gets Sharingan? I was thinking he will awaken his doujutsu at the news of death of his teammates, but he needs more trauma it seems.

I might have jumped into conclusions first few chapters. My bad, but I must say I've never felt so frustrated. Ryo, a boy who I assumed to be Sakura's son, might as well be just some kid Sakura bonded over in Suna for all I know. A child soldier, that really never crossed my mind. Also, at one point I thought Ryo is really an older shinobi. I had a lot of questions but I got answers and explanations for all in the previous chapters. But mystery of Ryo was something that only got worse.

Well, next chapter will only make things worse between Itachi and Sakura I am assuming...since he seems to be now under assumption Ryo is Gaara and Sakura's son. I think. Its so funny, someone should just tell him the truth already. I feel bad for Itachi. At least Kakashi ships them and will support them in future.

I can't believe its taking so much time for Itachi to tell her the truth behind massacre and Sasuke, I mean, he told Naruto the truth so fast and Kakashi, Shikamaru and even Suna heads know, but not Sakura who he supposedly loves so much it hurt? It is as if he wants to be hurt. I can't sympathise with him. What a masochist. For a genius, he sure is bit stupid. Sakura is no better. These two are holding so many secrets from each other that it is now funny.

Rin and Kakashi... They are like cat and mouse. Rin teasing Kakashi with her generous assets is something I never spared a thought to. More like, I can't imagine Rin with big boobs. Either that or its my ObiRin heart talking. To see them as side pairings is an interesting take though.

Ryo...is legally Suna citizen. Gaara either agreed to become his make-believe father to escape Marriage proposals when Sakura became pregnant, or Ryo is not Itachi's son and Ryo, who is Gaara's son, is the catalyst that will make ItaSaku again.

This Itachi seems different than the Itachi from prequel. He never smirked as often as he is doing here. Time influenced him perhaps. I wonder what Itachi told Naruto to calm him down like that.

Um... I had many ideas about how the sequel would begin, but nothing could prepare me for this.

Assuming Itachi is 28 years old, that would make Sakura and co. 23. And Minato is 3 years old so Naruto impregnated Hinata in the middle of war when they were 19-20. Kakashi was inaugurated as the new Hokage when Sakura was 21 bevause that had been the first time after years that she set a foot in Konoha. Assuming Ryo is 4-5 y/o, that would mean she had him when she was 19. Sakura last met Itachi when she was 18 so a year later she gave birth to Itachi's kid. Unless it's Gaara's kid (because he is redhead? But I am supposing you will give reason that "pink is a shade of red" or "old blood/genes". Sasuke died a year later when they were 19 after getting captured, but only years after that did Konoha became free since it took 4 years of rebellion to overthrow Danzo. Sakura didn't know about Sasuke's death until she was 21 as the last chapter of the prequel suggested.

It seems she had a very sheltered life where she had no idea about the situation in Konoha, which doesn't sit with me, but okay.

Sakura in ANBU and Itachi taking interest in her ANBU persona is exciting. Itachi took the news of her being alive well for someone who's mourned her supposed death for years. I can't believe Sakura made it into ANBU after her horrid performance in the prequel but I suppose she trained hard under Lee to increase her stamina and learned more offensive techniques. At least Naruto was hospitalised along with her lol that cushioned the blow. Sai being Sakura's new captain is... Something. I always thought Team 7 would be together but then again there is no Sasuke to complete the team anymore.

I am very curious about Ryo. I don't understand why Sakura felt anger for Itachi after so long. It seemed...abrupt. Like, its been years and I understand why she'd feel pain but anger? Perhaps its unplanned pregnancy speaking. Being a single mother who is an ANBU member and having to send her kid to other nations to get babysitted by the said nation's leader and his siblings would warrent anger sure lolol

I am making hypothesis, for all I know she's moved on and had baby with Gaara but remained Loyal to Konoha and Gaara respected that. But this ItaSaku so clearly not that.

The only thing is that I found Sakura extremely irritating and childish in this one, she talked like a child. And also there is not enough itasaku scenes like expected.

Such a fantastic story. Very impressed with your committment to see your multi-chapter stories to the end. It's written so well, and so interesting, and with so much happening that it feels like it has become part of the main story. Like you're an official writer commissioned by the author.
I loved how all the details intertwine together and make sense once you have read both The Lost One and The Return of the Heir. It's a true testament to the level of thoughts you have put in the plot. For example that whole narrative you created around the Shinjutama and blood sacrifice, which you tie back to the cannon Hidan's behaviour. I loved how insignificant details slowly become the major plot. For example Sakura and her Shinju blood. It was introduced almost inconsequentially, and by the end of HEIR, the mythology around Shinju has gotten so powerful.
Althought the Ryo mystery could be guessed easily, I was gobsmacked by the identity of the Heir. Well played.
The Itachi Sakura relationship is the most plausible I have EVER read. If there was a perfect scenario on How to put together a trusted kunoichi with high standards and loyal to a fault and a S class missing nin double agent who cannot blow his cover and who doesn't think he deserves happiness... That would be the scenario!
So really a masterpiece.

Good story, it's one I might reread when I've forgotten enough of it and It will be just as good. Not much OOC and plenty of underused characters and oc's. I loved itachi's struggle to identify what she ment to him in the first one and how possessive he was in this one.
Something told me Ryo was their kid! I called it! He is and adorable kid. I hope they have more!

This was so good :") The ending wrapped everything else nicely! I was pleasantly surprised that Shiraishi turned out not to be a villain, and that all 3 villages managed to be in good terms. I loved that Ryo is a Suna shinobi, it wasn't glaringly obvious (I thought they'd all stay in Konoha lol) but it was a good plot twist nevertheless!

I am absolutely in LOVE with Ryo! I really love Sasusake in canon universe (though I despise Boruto cause it destroyed all the characters) but i WON'T accept any other child than Ryo for Sakura. He just wormed his way in my heart and gosh so perfect! Really amazing writing and story telling. Loved those two fictions!

Loved the sequel really enjoyed the story line the ending with shiraishi was not what I expected but nice to read :) Its a shame you killed Sasuke off :( I was disappointed about that :( but overall a fantastic story I could re-read again an again :D
