I am ridiculously glad you've started watching Merlin. And have seen the massive slash thing going on there. I take it you're from the UK - I live in Scotland and have been a massive fan of this - purely for the slash, of course - for ages.

Too many dashes in that sentence there, sorry!

One thing about this - "study, for Gretchen's sake" should be "sturdy". Otherwise, I loved it. The characterisation was great, especially the part where Merlin was worried about Arthur thinking.

The gratuitous use of the stocks on Arthur's part is something I imagine he would do. This has been ruined (I lie, it's been enriched) by the fact I've recently seen an icon with Merlin in the stocks and the text "Bondage - yay!" on it.

It's amusing to read someone saying, "Merlin!" in the heat of the moment, and actually be addressing MERLIN. I'm used to it from the HP world as more of an oath. This tickles me more than it probably should.
