haviba chapter 9 . 2/24/2010 another awesome chapter! reading this story has tainted my perspective on the outcomes of other post-movie stories, i hope you know! as some others have said, very intriguing stuff with neytiri's baby. mentioning past avatar experiments gave me such awesome alien resurrection vibes [and i really hope that is not taken as an insult- the failed experiments lab scene was CREEPY and i can just picture jake dreaming about something equally horrifying now that his perceptions of hell's gate and the labs have shifted]. and as much of a sucker i am for sad endings, my hope and guess is that they have twins ;] and, ok, this review is getting way too long and way too dorky. love the story. love the writing. keep it up :D |
Tankred chapter 9 . 2/24/2010 That's a really interesting way of explaining it, unless you found it on some kind of official source. Either way I like it, the stars. |
ConGie chapter 9 . 2/24/2010 Wow, talk about deep. The star thing is awesome, I never would have thought of that in a million years. Same thing with the language joke that popped out when Jake gave off the good news. Before I go, I have a small suggestion. Jake should tell the Omiticya (er however you spell it) about free love. What I mean by free love is how humans choose their own mate. Just an idea, take it or leave it, all the same to me. The Sage of Water, ~ConGie |
Padme Nijiri chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 The quote at the beginning is very ominous. On the genetics side, I kinda doubt that the baby would turn into a tumor unless things went very very wrong. The most I can think of is something like trisomy 23 or the kid having cancer. But I'm only a lowly bioengineer and not a geneticist... |
xoxcrescentmoonxox chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 Another long chapter chock full of great writing. I loved the return to Hell's Gate; it was illuminating to see it from Jake's perspective after he's become Na'vi. You've clearly spent a long time thinking about Na'vi pregancy, and it shows, from teh detail abotu how long it takes for the babies to visibly grow - that makes so much sense; the women could stay actuve for longer - to the tests and things the scientests came to do on Neytiri. Nice job :-D |
VividInk chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 This chapter was thoroughly interesting. The whole thing about Neytiri undergoing tests and scans. Very, very intriguing. I hope nothing's wrong with the baby, but knowing stories, I have a hunch that the tests will come back with suspicious results to create more drama, yeah? But you're the boss. You decide. :D UPDATE |
Aiyoku Saotome chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 wow this chapter was so amazing. I love the explanation of the stars and dots on their skin! Oh please don't let the baby be deformed. Maybe it could have 5 fingers, and maybe the next baby could have four, but please don't make it die. |
Harlequine-Girl chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 Simply amazing! Every time I see that this story has been updated and it's waiting for me in my inbox I squeal like a little kid on christmas morning! I simply adore this story and your writing style. It's elegant, creative, and fun but there's also a deapth to it that most other stories lack. Again, you've done an amazing job. Keep up the great work! Ja'ne- Ami |
skoedaddy chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 This story is really engaging. I have nothing but prais and gratitude that you have chosen to expound on this universe. This story line is one of my favorites and I look forward to your updates. Please keep up the excelent writing! |
Mona Ogg chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 Finally someone thinking along the same lines as me. I've read a couple of stories where Jake and Neytiri have no trouble at all to produce a healthy all-Navi baby... but I thought: that's a pretty slim chance, isn't it? What with all the differences? There could be a baby with deformed hands because of the four/five finger difference, it could end up with the brittle bones of a human, might have difficulty breathing Pandora's air, it might just be smaller than average, or worse: a child without a queue... to a Na'vi, that would be the ultimate disability, wouldn't it? Anyway, sorry for my over-enthusiastic ramblings. I'm curious where you're taking this, and I liked this chapter because it opened up so many different possibilities. Looking forward to the next one. |
Sherry chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 Wow, I didn't realize people use eucalyptus trees for paper... And I absolutely love how sophisticated this story is. Seriously, you've captured the feel of the movie so fully that I'm just in awe as I'm reading it. |
Brian64 chapter 9 . 2/23/2010 Chapter nine already? Sweet! Alrighty, I loved the new spots on Neytiri and then Jake, and the fact that it is now confimed that 'they' are pregnant. I'm with the elders on that turn of phrase though - until guys develop wombs, 'they' are not pregnant (but it is a nice inclusive way of showing support). Jake's dream where he feels some of his people die is an interesting idea, and with his bead is probably all to likely to occur should the next war with the Sawtute start. Hope it doesn't distract him too much during the fight. The avatars showing up and almost implying they might want to terminate Neytiri's child (with their talk about abortion) could have been a disaster. I mean, surely they remembered that Jake was a marine before becoming an avatar and clan chief? What right did they think they had to interfere. I think Jake was very restrained & they were very lucky that he was. Now.. I have to try and wait patiently until we learn what the test results are in chapter 10.. Oh, and hope none of the uniltìranyu try anything stupid. Brian |
pig chapter 8 . 2/22/2010 this was recommended to me over on lj. OH MAN! what a fun, cute story. and nicely written. thanks so much for sharing and ugh waiting for new chapters is downright torture! |
Sunafire chapter 8 . 2/22/2010 I want to look at the image, but the link isn't to clear to what I need to do xD Make it simpler please? Anyway, about the chapter. I LOVED IT. It was beautiful and I am so exited with the hope that Jaktyri will have a child :D Amazing. |
ConGie chapter 8 . 2/18/2010 Wow, I'm really liking the story so far. You have a very good ability to describe your scenes along the ability to only hint certain things (hanky painky lol). Your plot is well developed as well, something I only stumble upon once in a blue moon. Thank you for the read, I look forward to following you further. The Sage of Water, ~ConGie |
