I added this story years ago and I think it’s better a decade later. PTSD, loneliness, and the future not being as bright as you expect it Is now more relatable than dark now. I was engrossed from start to finish.

oh man. i know this story has been here a looong time, but just wanted to drop a message if you still see this. this was one of the earlier fanfics i've read and i have been looking and looking and looking for it every time and by chance found it again. :D
