| damsel-in-stress chapter 1 . 12/29/2009
Nicely done. I can easily imagine Jack thinking something like that and your take on his need to be free, without being beaten into a niche, was particularly good. I especially loved the sentiment about Beckett: "No, the problem had been expertly articulated by Beckett, though he neither knew that the late lord had uttered such truths nor would admit that he had, if he’d known."
This is very carefully and cleverly written. Although certainly a littledepressing, it is also rather deep and quite thought provoking.
Thanks for writing!

Very insightful, and that closing line is particularly inspired.
