I am really enjoying the story, but as a trans person seeing a character punished by being physically altered, let alone without their concious consent just feels odd... Let alone that so far if anything he seems to be just fine. The dysphoria would be immense, waking up having been surgically altered without your permission. I am not saying the ironic punishment for rape is not warranted. Just that it feels a bit awkward? Shouldn't that be traumatizing?

Every now and again, I treat myself by re-reading a favorite book. Sometimes, I am disappointed as a second (or third) reading doesn’t live up to my memory. But that has never happened with a RobSt story, and it certainly was no letdown to re-read this one. What a wonderful story!

I have mixed feelings about this fic. I found the time travel setup to be a bit heavy handed, and while I’m not a fan of certain Weasleys, damn, the bashing was NOT subtle.

However, once we actually made it to the past I started to get more invested in the story. I will be honest: I was a little icked out by Harry and Hermione (and eleven- and twelve-year-olds in general) snogging the hell out of each other, but I just kinda glossed over those parts. Aside from that, your portrayal of the characters is one of my favorite aspects of this fic. You actually managed to turn Fudge into a competent minister! That's such a rarity, and I love it. Your versions of Neville, Luna, and Ginny are also wonderful. I just want to hug Luna forever, and I'm so glad you decided to humanize Ginny instead of writing her as a horrible caricature.

As far as the karmic ass-kicking goes, the mental image of Ron eating nuts out of randomly appearing cups is hilarious (the level of obliviousness there reminds me of Ron from The Champion's Champion), and Draco’s anti-shampoo commercial moment was grossly (haha) deserved… although you actually made me feel a bit sorry for the little git after Andi blew him off. Meanwhile, the Dursleys screwing themselves is absolutely poetic.

I also liked the way you handled Dumbledore, from the way he couldn't stop sticking his crooked nose into things, to his slow mental decline. While I totally wouldn't have minded an epic showdown, the way you ultimately handled him was creative and apropos. Is it vindictive of me to wish for Harry and Hermione to visit him once they get back from Australia?

That said, I know that this fic is more than a decade old, but if you ever come back to it for editing purposes, I recommend having a proofreader take a look at your sentence structure. Overall, this story is highly readable, but you abuse commas like it's going out of style.

I must say I very much like AliceTobor's idea of a world where Ron is the BWL and suffers as Harry did in canon...his whole family dead and raised by an abusive relative...for his own good of course

I'm thinking that maybe like in "A Different Halloween" Harry and Hermione already know each other and will still eventually get together. But maybe Neville will wind up being Ron the BWL's best friend and can (in secret) teach him things like occlumency and about his heritage and whatnot with Ron all the while wondering just why he was so jealous of Harry after realizing that he himself is the same way...would trade his wealth if he had his family back. Maybe by the time of the Tri-Wiz Ron has grown up enough that maybe HE will be the one Fleur's Veela magic chooses as a good mate LOL
