| Robyn S. Mockingbird chapter 1 . 6/23/2013
This actually made me cry a little. It was just...I can sympathize with him in some ways(though still drastically different situations) and, really, he can't regret it. No matter how much he fears that his parents would hate him (and actively do, in his father's case) he can't regret it. Not when there's Alan babbling about the newest thing he did in school. One of the craziest situations I've been in was when a woman came up to me and told me my son was adorable. I'm much older than him, but the fact remains that he's my little brother. My reaction was kind of like, "Yeah, my brother's a cutie" and I don't think she noticed. Really, just love how There Scott is in this. In many stories he's very distant. Aloof. He'll be messing with his brothers, but then, like, remembers himself and distances himself. In this, he's still clearly the one in charge(I think that's what they're usually trying to convey- that he's a bit above them and is in charge) and acts it, but he...dotes on them, to a degree. Didn't expect to love it this much, but glad I read it.

This was very nicely done. The way you described the scenes with Scott and his brothers, especially Alan, then his guilt over the situation was very poignant. I can understand his feelings as well as his father's. I hope to see more from you soon.

ou set the mood perfectly and continued it throughout the story. It was a joy to read, and very poignant. Wonderful.

This story is quite sad, but it seems like it could be exactly how Scott felt. I love the ending with Alan. Thanks for a great story. :)

A thoughtful and touching piece. I have no doubt that Lucy would forgive him, and that Jeff will in time, but I can see why Jeff would resent his son - both for his closeness to Alan and for illustrating Jeff's own negligence.
Scott's walking a difficult course, but it's one he really had no choice but to take. This was a nice exploration of his feelings and his relationship with his little brother. Thanks for posting a poignant and well-written story.

It was sweet but sad, and I liked that. Little Alan towards the end was a nice touch which allowed for some brotherly fluff between the two. The last line nearly had me in tears, though.
Well done on a wonderful, contemplative one-shot.
