|Reviews for A Castle of Silence and Bones|
| Karano chapter 24 . 12/28/2014
Oh, this fic was so perfect, it left me without words. How sweet the ending was...
| Karano chapter 20 . 12/28/2014
Waaaait a second, there were more Axis countries than the three. And while yes, loyalties existed, states like Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, should be independent, at least in name.
World superpowers? Yes, the three. But countries? A bit more.
It was all the criticism I had too do. This story is immaculate, a perfect crown jewel, in every other way.
| StarSpangledTeaLeaf chapter 24 . 7/20/2014
Beautiful and sad. A work of genius. The feels. Can't think now. Need sleep. Crying.
| Twisted Sonnet chapter 24 . 4/16/2014
If this story is not the essence of the term satire, I have no notion of what is.
Soo... the Axis turned on each other? If they were to win the war, that would have eventually happened, anyway...
| Ifusee chapter 23 . 3/14/2014
"although Yao had not planned it to this extent" WAIT MY CHINA PLANNED THIS?! THE DEATH OF A (somewhat) INNOCENT HUMAN BEING?!
I'm not a NiChu shipper and I usually don't read m-rated fanfics but this. WHOAA... amazing.
Just the characterizations, man... I love Kiku being all dark and possessive and China being the smart (and sexy) little chipper. And poor Asahiko...I didn't realize I felt bad for him until this chapter...
And Although I know why he did this... I hate China right now...just... I don't know why but I hate him...
| Riane V chapter 24 . 2/16/2014
I felt very conflicted and didn't know what to say about kiku's insanity or yao's stubbornness. All I do know is that despite of everything-of the chaos around them their feelings reached each other. In my mind I imagine them walking hand in hand in the bamboo forest where they first met. A castle of silence and bones indeed, for the ones who lived there it was just that nothing more, the beauty in the beginning was but a facade. In the end it showed its true face. Who would want to live in a place that contains their horrible memories?
I believe that now those two are starting a new journey.
| Saiyanpelt chapter 2 . 11/26/2013
Still don't get it. Well, I get that Japan is draping China, and Japan is confusing, but I don't understand.
| Saiyanpelt chapter 1 . 11/26/2013
Lolwut? I is kinda confuzzled.

| Takahashi Nana chapter 1 . 8/9/2013
Coming back to review this after half an year, all I can say is... wow... The way you portrayed those characters seemed to sink in me more with this time, and I started to see why they did the things they did, and the consequences. It began to struck me that... no one did anything wrong in this fanfic. Kiku is a possessive bastard, but I feel his fascination with China began when he was a Child, and he felt that China was untouchable and perfect, and (correct me if I'm wrong) I think that you are trying to portray Kiku being disappointed and thinking that he is better for China than the westerners.
Seeing how the story turns out really breaks my feels...gahhh...I feel so bad for Kiku... his "love" really brought both him and Yao to an end, and what Yao did was really... just... he was just trying one last time to regain his dignity...
I re-read your half-a-millenium story too, and... all I can say is you are an excellent Nichu fanfic writer, hope you write more! _
(btw where did the name for this fic came from?)
| mixim chapter 24 . 3/27/2013
this... this story is so beautiful...
| Maledict Zashley chapter 1 . 1/31/2013
I'm only on the first chapter, but...where's the setting? Where's any mention of personality? Why is the sentence structure so conusing, hiding any meaning under a pile of excessive verbs and adverbs in an attempt to sound poetic? Why does this cover almost nothing that we are taught from middle school(sometimes sooner) to put in a story's exposition?
| Takahashi Nana chapter 23 . 1/2/2013
I think a good character song for Asahiko is "Marionette" by Antonia, and btw, You are a truly brilliant writer. The way you described the characters' personalities is amazing-it is almost like you took the names and gave them each a new character. After this fanfiction I developed a strong dislike towards China and a lot of pity for Kiku; I mean... China played Kiku throughout the novel like a puppet, and Kiku fell in it because he loved China. Kinda makes me feel for him because he loves China to the point of insanity but all China wants to do is to crush him. Also Asahiko...I don't think he is a bad person, only that all he wants is to be truly loved, and China is the only one that gives him that. But actually, China also only used him as a puzzle piece to crush Japan. I guess China isn't willing to submit to Japan's possessive love, and I have to admire him for rebelling against the power and fight for himself, but I wish he could think about it first- how many innocent people that will end their life because of his desire, the most representative case is Asahiko. Think about it- Asahiko is only a normal human, only unluckily placed in this circumstance and born and bred to rule over Japan. He never did anything terrible to China, but he died because of him.
This fanfiction makes me question human Psychology. Kiku's "love" for China is truly insane and abnormal, but when he said "nii-san, nii-san, I finally have you, will you not stay?" I started to think about how this obsessive love all began. Is this whole obsessive love all Kiku's fault? Could this be caused by something uncontrollable by his will like a tragedy before he met China or maybe it is because of his lack of attention at China's house? Maybe due to the many siblings he had at China's, he didn't get much attention. He desired China's attention, but didn't quite interpret the attention right. He didn't figure the want right-thinking maybe if he became stronger and "controlled" him like the western powers did during the 19th century or so China will give attention to him. This could possibly explain his massacre during World War II- he wants China to "truly" see him, but the result...as explained in the story.
Anyway great story, and I hope you are writing more!

This is beautifully written
| lol anon chapter 24 . 10/2/2012
I've just read this fanfic in its entirety in one sitting. Not something I usually do, especially when it comes to fanfiction, but after reading the first chapter I couldn't help but devour the rest. Because it is so so good and so wonderfully written and I really don't know how to put my feelings for this into words 3 I've been waiting for a fanfic of this quality for ages.
The prose is beautiful - there are some minor issues with typos and grammar, but they don't detract from the story you're trying to tell. Which has, by the way, ripped my heart out and torn it into pieces, for lack of a better description. WHY WAS I GIVEN EMOTIONSSS. I won't be able to look at NiChu (is that what the Japan/China ship is called?) the same way again.
Also, combining the chapter titles to form that poem at the end is clever. Really clever.
It's been painful to read this, but I've loved every paragraph of it. So well done for keeping me hooked on this trainwreck :')
