So now she remembers the one time she met Edward but thinks her mind made him up?

Oh so Edward is a vampire and Bella is very surprised. How did she know there were vampires in the world? And why isn't Edward or the other vampires drinking from animals at least? And in that same vein, why doesn't Bella find, hunt, fish for animals in her area?

I'm intrigued by the description of the man who appeared as Bella compares him to the statue. He seems to know her but she doesn't seem to know this man who I assume is Edward.

I can't imagine watching everyone die before your very eyes, and now it's just you, alone in the world. I hope Bella finds it in herself to find ways to survive, get water from a nearby source, grown vegetables, etc. I'm guessing Edward isn't far away somewhere.

Oh my, this story is going to break my heart I see. Interesting premise though and I'm interested to see if Bella regains some strength and will to survive, alone for now.

I hope she finds some one else. Is she still in high school?

Okay, so I'm very late to this party (and you probably don't even look at this account anymore), but I just wanted to say how much I loved reading this story. Even though I knew how it would end, it still had me sitting on the edge of my seat (and in tears so many times), waiting to see "how" it would end. But, I was so glad Bella and Edward were together at the end.

Amazing. Truly. I've avoided reading this fic for years. The post-apocalyptic thing isn't generally my thing. But now I'm so glad I finally read this. I always appreciate a good turn of phrase and vivid descriptions, but more than the beauty of your words, I found the expression of your thoughts particularly compelling.
I'll be thinking of this story for a long time to come.

what a spectacular ending! i have just read this straight through and enjoyed it so much. the psychology of the characters was well developed in an interesting way.

The quality your writing is top notch. This story was emotional, a little macabre, a lot depressing, but so good that I read it in one sitting (hence the no sleep thing). You are so talented.
