The feeling and emotions were powerful and came across so strong. Great story.

The opening of this story felt like a bit much to me. Gibbs's thoughts about what a good son and person Tony is just felt like they went on for too long and made him seem too perfect. I enjoyed the story more once they actually started talking and we were able to get out of Gibbs's headspace. A lot of the lines ("Family is weird," "You never had to") feel very in-character for them in how they say so little yet so much.

Standing ovation for Tony, brave (and tired and hurt and ...just Tony) enough to dig into his emotions and to share with Gibbs, for Gibbs (shy father, feeling he has no rights over Tony and over the fatherly love he feels ...but anyway there for Tony and ready to be there for him nevertheless the cost to himself) ..and for you!

Such a beautiful companion piece to your other NCIS story! So heart-warming and quite true to the characters. Pity you seem to have stopped writing in the fandom...

I love this. I feel like the bond between Gibbs and Tony is largely unspoken, but known to each. They don't need the words to be said aloud. You captured that perfectly. Well done.
