Vulcans think showing emotion as a weakness but the understand that during pon farr, their ability to not show goes out the door. I don't like how most fics portray it. Yes it would, theoretically, be violent but they do retain some ability to think. Not much but it is there. They understand that pon farr is the one time they are unable to not show emotion and accept it though they are ashamed of it. It is part of the reason they try to keep non-Vulcans out of the loop. I love Vulcans, if you can't tell, lol!
To me, your portrayal of pon farr is mostly accurate. I enjoyed reading.

So true! While i also enjoy those pon farr fics i never understood how a supposedly matriarchal or advanced civilization suc as vulcan would allow their women to be raped just because of "biology".

I also do not agree with the "brutal rape" pon farrs, as you put it, and I found this refreshingly sweet. Good job! :)

Oh, how I agree with your take on Pon Farr!

I am quite tired of searching for the story that examines this time in a Vulcan male's time a bit more, shall I say, logically. In all the canon I have read, the general consensus is that symptoms of Pon Farr (usually progressing into Plak Tow) are alleviated through mating or great violence. It doesn't say great mating violence, though I imagine a loss of control could cause a Vulcan to lose perspective of his human mate's weakness.

I, also, don't believe it takes as long as days to relieve the symptoms, but I really enjoyed your take in this and love your general portrayal of Sarek and Amanda.

Great story. I absolutely agree with your view on pon farr. It's the loss of control that is the problem, not sex or violence. The idea that pon farr is some type of marital rape would be abhorent to the logical mind. This was a very well done story!
