| Reagan chapter 4 . 1/29/2010
One thing, McGee should not back down on the stupid nicknames. McGeek, McGoo, McWhiney, and the lot should totally be off limits. If Tony can't call him by his name or speak to him in a respectful manner (none of those names are respectful, neither are 98% of the rest) then he shouldn't speak to Tim at all. I can only imagine all the crap Tim put up with in Middle and High School, just because Tony is an adult doesn't mean he gets to speak to him that way.
I'd have thrown that right back in Gibbs' face and told him in no uncertain terms this is the new way we're doing things. Part of the problem that led to this point was trying to pretend it doesn't bother him. Stand up for yourself McGee, completely and wholly. Don't let the differences between their backgrounds eclipse common courtesy. Because let me assure you if I behaved the way Tony does to a fellow co-worker I'd have been written up for harassment and subsequently fired after a few of those incidents.
| Reagan chapter 3 . 1/29/2010
That was pretty fair and balanced all around. I can totally believe Tony has a serious problem with all this being laid at his feet all of a sudden. Why this particular straw broke the camel's back than the previous twenty incidents didn't.
Gibbs also deserves some blame. He never once said enough and Tony took his cue. Heck even Ziva should have stood up for Tim on occasion and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Tim would apologize as though this is his fault. Not to say that blowing up at your co-worker in a public setting is good. He didn't handle it that well either.
So now what? Vance can't let this go. Its bad for the organization and his premier team. Heck sending them out right now would be a disaster waiting to happen.
Keep the chapters coming. I'm really enjoying this scenario.

Tim shouldn't have had to say he was sorry. As much as I like Tony he needs to build up Tim not tear him down. Hope to read more.

Nice chapter. Thanks for posting.
| SLE chapter 3 . 1/29/2010
I am quite enjoying this story, but was just wondering (and please don't take offence) are you going to ignore the times Tim has been disrespectful to Tony as seen in the show. I guess I'm asking if this is completely AU or if you have a plan to make it sibling rivalry gone too far or a poor Tim scenario!
I am partial to Tony I admit, and at times I do think he's a bit rough on Tim, but there have been times when Tim has been harsh as well.
Not that this will really impact on my reading this story, as it is well written and thus far quite enjoyable.

Go Gibbs! Nice dressing down he gave Tony, though Tony sure doesn't seem repentant enough, imo at least. It's just like Tim to feel guilty for showing what he really feels, poor guy. I sure hope Vance gives Tony what he deserves. It would also be like Vance to tear into Gibbs a little bit more for not stopping Tony before this.
Great chapter! Hope to see more soon.

It's not Tim's fault! I was glad he finally stood up to can't really imagine he's the one in trouble can he? Great chapter! Thanks :)

I'm too lazy to log in. : )
I was just going to say that you can write, even though I really think that Tony isn't anywhere near as mean-spirited as you describe, and I actually think Tony and McGee are making significant strides toward an equal relationship. But this is something different, and I applaud you for stepping out of the box- even if I very much disagree with your characterization. And don't let anyone bully you out of writing whatever the hell you want.
| Probie-Centric chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
This is an excellent story, first time finding it here. But that's because I've been reading it on another site you've been posting it.
I like Tony, I really do. A year ago I couldn't stand him. That being said, the double standard that is clearly evident with Tony fans is ridiculous. Tony is allowed to do and say whatever he likes and there's always an excuse because it's Tony. Tim does or says one cross thing and suddenly he is a jerk for it.
Continue on with this story in the way you want to and please don't let any negative reviews affect you. The Tony apologists have other stories they can read here. Or they can just continue complaining about this story which they just might.
Either way, like I said don't change the way you are writing this story. It is great the direction it is going in.
| Ilkate chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
You're quite a good writer, but your Vance, Gibbs, Tim, and Tony are out of character. Tim isn't that much of a wuss (unless you include the first few seasons), Tony isn't quite that mean (most of his pranks are fraternity type things: glue on the keyboard, the Claire thing-mind you, Tony actually felt bad about that while McGee turned the joke right back onto Tony), Gibbs isn't that unaware, and Vance is a practical man (unlike the clearly shortsighted man you have given us); he may have disliked and disregarded Tony last season, but not since the season opener.
While I'm sure we are actually watching the same show, clearly you are projecting your own emotions and feelings onto the characters. Trust me, I know Tony can be an absolute a$$hat, but there is no way he would do anything to really hurt a team member, and Gibbs has never, ever been as oblivious as you have written him. That is the point of the show by the way; Gibbs is 'all knowing' Aside from the Ziva shooting her brother thing to get close to Gibbs-Gibbs usually knows exactly what his agents are up to and is two to three steps ahead of them.
My other issue with Vance has been mentioned by others; he's a hypocrite in your story. He can't play favorites himself and have a problem with somebody else doing the same thing, and I'm pretty sure that as a government employee that some sort of paper trail has to exist for Tony to be fired for what you are setting him up for. Your Tony could sue the pants off Vance, NCIS, and Gibbs if they have a problem with his behavior after 8 years of his 'jokes' whilst on the job with no disciplinary proceedings or write ups for his playing around. Nothing like that has been mentioned or alluded to in the show, and it would be completely unbelievable for you to suddenly include anything like that to fix your plot point.
Your story doesn't match up to the characters on the show regardless of the people giving you reviews saying "OMG! Finally someone who's telling it like it is! Tony's a jerk!" Those comments aren't helpful; that person just doesn't like Tony, and anything anyone writes negatively about him is going to charge their engine. Those comments are not constructive criticism; they're fluffy cheers being sent to you by a particular character's cheering squad: all fluff and no real substance. They're venting nothing more.
If you write some other story, I will probably try that one since you are a good writer. This one though? Pass.
| Megan chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
No, DiNozzo is not his favorite. Abby is Gibbs's favorite it's even been said on the show. She will always be his favorite. I don't think that Tony is that mean to McGee. There have been a few times yes, but not all the time. Most of the time it's stuff that a big brother would do to a little brother. I think that Tim in the later episodes is the one that is meaner to Tony. He's been known to hit below the belt to Tony.
| tiffaroolou chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
Ok, first of all, Gibbs did say "Our best agents *are* with her." I re-watched the episode as well.
Second, you've got pretty much everyone wildly OOC. Tony is never that mean, and Tim gives as good as he gets most of the time. (Which I enjoy, btw. I like *all* of the characters and how they interact.)
Vance is being quite the hypocrite, considering his obvious preference toward McGee. And then there's McGee's smugness about this fact to consider.
Also, it's been established on the show that *Tony* is the one who frequently comes in at night to work.
You write well, but I had no idea this story was going to be such an inaccurate bash-fest.
| tinlizzy08 chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
Oh my gosh! A story that finally will slam DiNozzo for the way he's treated McGee for all these years. You can't stop, can't wait for the next chapter. DiNozzo's teasing has also been way below the belt, he's hit McGee numerous times below the belt with his childish & idiotic actions, too bad Gibbs won't say anything to DiNozzo & pull him aside like he's done with McGee. Much as I love Gibbs, he has a total blindspot when it comes to DiNozzo, and the turning the other cheek as a way of ignoring DiNozzo's tormenting of McGee hasn't been fair to McGee, & smacks ot total favortism. Too bad TPTB had decided to thrown the obvious favortism not only in the fans faces but McGee's as well, waiting for someone to bitchslap the hell outta DiNozzo.
Gots to also agree that DiNozzo is my least favorite character, he could fall into a black hole and I'd like yes finally! Anxiously awaiting chapter three.
| whatweareafreaidof chapter 2 . 1/28/2010
Tony teases a lot with McGee and uses various nicknames, that is true. However, McGee has not learned the difference between hazing or teasing and just being downright mean.
makeing fun of probie when he kill the guy(the cop) when he when on line to act like a girl and tim like him her. when he made fun after they saved ziva, or laughing when he was tazed two time, or the cd after he almost got kill my the drug dog. or makeing fun of him for not getting dates. that is just a few of the things tony has done. i get teaseing when we are at the bar, or when we are jokeing around. but when i just had to watch a girl i care about was killed in front of me, and tony made fun of that. that cross the line.
yes tim had said a few bad thinks about tony. but nothing for the first 3 years then he started to stand up for himself and maybe cross the line but only tony becouse tony never stops... if i am a jerk, tony never know when to stop, or best of all he never had a real talk to tim know he cars. by the way breaking in to his apartment like five time, and bringing people. i wish it was one of the time tim was getting laid, just to shut tony up..
As far as Tony telling Tim what Gibbs said to his father, why would he? Tony did not tell anyone about the Rota, Spain job even when Tim was making fun of Tony's abilities after Tony had kept the team together the four months Gibbs was gone.
becouse tony brakes all the time about every think so yes he would have tease tim about it. tony did not keep the team together, tim and ziva would be find in just about any one. and tim was mad about tony acking like gibbs. he even said tony was a good boss, by the way tim when for senier agent to probie again and when back to being tease over and over. i read a stroy where tim was offered a job with the fbi. i wish they did that on show.
