| Emmaline3 chapter 6 . 7/13/2014
My brother also spent time in Germany many years after D-Day...he dated a German girl who told him how it was during the occupation; said one couldn't trust ones own family for fear of being 'falsely outted' , just hoping to deflect any attention
Your story is bringing it all back. Amazing writing
| Emmaline3 chapter 4 . 7/13/2014
My dad was in France during the 'occupation'. He never spoke about his stint but I read everything I could to better understand the news during that atrocious time! I was thinking that surely what the IS is doing to it's own people today has never seen such on this earth...but your story reminds me that evil rises periodically to wake up complacency and stirs outrage...
Evil ever lurks, just waiting for a time to spew it's hate.

I feel as tense and unsettled as though I'm standing, alone, in the market place! Now that's stress!
| Emmaline3 chapter 1 . 7/13/2014
Can't help but wonder what it could be like for us, here safely tucked in the USofA; infiltrated by those who want to see our country destroyed and the people living as a third world nation would. Totally lawless and no place to hide. I'm not clever, nor rich, nor courageous...but could I just roll over? Obviously, Esme has other ideas

This is amazing!(:

Ahhhh. Quelle belle histoire!
| pager22 chapter 7 . 10/30/2013
That was very intense. The end. Haha
| pager22 chapter 5 . 10/29/2013
That moment was beautiful between them. I love how bad she thinks she is at being a spy but she's provably better than she gives herself credit for.
| pager22 chapter 4 . 10/29/2013
You're just so great. You imbibe the story with such a feeling of 1940s Paris. It's amazing.
