Hey! I don’t know if you’re even still on here - but I just finished and LOVED this story! So this week I was listening to a random high school days playlist and nearly died because “Sinking” by Jars Of Clay has LITERALLY the perfect lyrics between Tom and Harry. If you want to check it out for fun! I don’t remember my login for my account, seriously no worries about a response, but feel free to reach me at if you did want to reply

No, Harry don't do it! It's not worth it!

Wow, this story is awesome! I have read a lot of fanfic, but I’m almost never left in suspense up until the end like this! And you managed a happy ending too! As I was reading, I had a lot of theories about what might happen, but there was never quite enough info to be sure…which is exactly what I like in a story. You really reward attentive readers by keeping them guessing. Most authors tip their hands too early…too many Chekhov’s guns and all that, but you left just enough fascinating half-clues without ruling out any of several possibilities! I also appreciate the lack of character bashing—even when Dumbledore was at his most manipulative, you made his motives clear in a way that made him a sympathetic character. And as much as I have appreciated some Tom/Harry slash in other stories, I think your decision to keep this non-slash made it a far better story. From a plot standpoint, it would have been too simple to make them into a couple. In real life, there are plenty of intense and weird interpersonal dynamics that are not sexual, and the Horcrux thing only opens the door for more possibilities with platonic intensity. So I really enjoyed getting to know these characters.
And I know that you have repeatedly mentioned having self-esteem issues and that you have mentioned in author notes that you don’t really appreciate being flamed for those issues, but I’m not here to flame. I just have to say that, as someone who just binge-read the entire thing (starting with the prequel, actually), the only “bad” or irritating part of this story was the many, many author notes in which you repeatedly talk about how embarrassed you are about your writing and how awful the chapters were. At first I was just confused about what you were talking about, because the chapters and story were great and I was just eager to move to the next chapter. However, since I use the audiobook feature quite often, I sat and listened through AN after AN about how awful and disappointing you thought your writing was, and it quickly got old. I think it would probably be different for those readers who followed you through the entire process, but for new readers who are just encountering your works for the first time, it is just a distraction from the story—which, again, is amazing! I doubt that you would want to go back through the story and delete all the ANs, but for future reference, if you continue to write, and especially if you keep working to publish original work, my most sincere advice is to pretend to be confident (or at least get an indifferent mask like Harry learnt to do!) until you actually get feedback from someone whose opinion matters. If you undercut yourself constantly, you are just making people doubt you who never would have doubted anything if you had just stayed silent. I know about this issue from a different angle because I teach college students, and when I first started, it felt disingenuous to me to pretend to be confident when I was a young and inexperienced teacher (even though I had faith in my education, as I think you must have faith in your ability to write, deep down—it’s just the discomfort of “public speaking,” or public sharing of your writing in your case, that makes the situation feel uncertain and your abilities somehow open to criticism). After years of teaching, I finally got enough experience to gain natural confidence as a leader in the classroom, and looking back, I can see that when I openly acted shy and unconfident in front of my first classes, it wasn’t actually good for them—I think it was unnerving and possibly disappointing to them to have someone in authority who wasn’t necessarily bad at teaching but who kept acting unsure and awkward. All of this said, it definitely took me years to gain that natural confidence, and if someone had advised me to quit being so unconfident back then (as some students did in their evaluations) it wouldn’t have gotten through to me. So I hope this doesn’t sound patronizing or critical or simply unhelpful, but I do hope that you have gained some years of experience now and that you can “fake it til you make it” when it comes to confidence! I know this is getting ridiculously long, but I just wanted to say all of this because if you are still offering self-criticism before waiting to hear what others actually think, I fear that you could be limiting your career prospects and maybe even your interpersonal relationships—and you are obviously such a talented and interesting person, so I thought it was worth my time to try to give a little advice, even at risk of sounding preachy or overinvested in a fanfic review, haha.
In short, I hope you are still enjoying writing in some capacity, and I’m looking forward to reading more of your fanfic stories! Thank you so much for creating this story and sharing it with us!

"No, not again!" I exclaim, when reading the last line of 'Harry's heart stopped,'.
*You already died once!* I think concerned... the figurative language catches up with me . . .

Isn't the title of the story, 'Fate's Favourite'? The last line was... a bit of an oxymoron to that.

The last line was awesome! Hope you keep writing, it's a MARVELOUS fiction.

Since you say that you aren't that great at Ron and Mione, I'll give you a quick brief of their relationship in regards to Harry;
Hermione is like a elder sister to Harry, she cares for his safety and his happiness. She is not afraid to challenge anyone that poses a threat to her or her family, including Harry and Ron. If she feels that someone makes Harry happy but not safe, she will warn him (Harry, the victim) and keep an eye out for trouble. If she gets too worried then she will bluntly tell Harry what's going on and DRAG him from Tom; reverting back to her bossy, but caring, self.
Ron is like the helpful, sweet, funny - but sometimes annoying and pushy - honorary brother that his parents would've 'adopted' (like Fee and Monty to Sirius) and spoiled. He cares for Harry and has a hot temper. Most of the time he only wants Harry's happiness and not so much safety - only thinking like a regular teenager. With his love life with Hermione, he is oblivious, but gets easily jealous.
Both of them care for Harry, but neither understand exactly why and what he is trying to to since they weren't there in the year Harry spent in 1943 - 1942.
