Wow what a story. Its great to see someone actually write about this wonderful complex character. I agree with you that Tony Starke manages to make a seemingly bad character multi layered and so likeable. The good under the bad.
It is about time Lauren was taught the error of her ways and you did it with such panache.
Hope you write many more stories containing these infuriating at times but fantastic characters.

Lauren isn't a bitch she's just hurt and has had a lot of people disappoint her... She may be a brat sometimes but deep down I don't think she's that bad. Anyway... Nice story. :)

I definitely am not crazy about Steve and Chloe as a couple - they seem too "leftover" and forced to me, as if the writers of the show were just trying to think of random single people to pair up to create more drama - but I enjoyed this. It's better written than most of the Make It or Break It fanfiction on here. It has very realistic and believable character interaction. The only problem with it, I believe, is that parts of it seemed like you were just using Steve as a mouthpiece for your own opinions on the show - like Emily's opinion of her mother. Considering the fact that he interacts with her very little, and the short amount of time he and Chloe have been dating, I don't see how he would have come to this conclusion, and I don't see why he would have brought it into a conflict centering around his daughter's actions. It wouldn't have been fair to Emily, and it would have been innappropriate and uncharacteristic of him to comment on her behavior. (Also in light of the fact that, while I adore Chloe, in the past she definitely was NOT the ideal mother, I don't think anyone can blame Emily's slight lingering resentment.)
But other than that, this was wonderfully written, and should actually happen on the show. Or some version of it, at least, just to put Lauren in her place.

Great scene! I would love to see that on the show! It's about time that Steve puts his foot down and lets Lauren know that her behavior won't be tolerated. Love the set up and the reaction of the other parents; it was wonderful when Steve told them all off. Lovely description of Chloe as a mother; Emily needs to be called on her attitude as well. Very enjoyable fic! Hope to see more MIOBI fic from you.
