What a delightful story. You describe Florian's cold fury so clearly, and Ray's hot-headed impulsiveness - so sure he's right that he can't see the larger picture. And I like how Laila has overcome her jealousy and can see things from both sides.
My favorite part was Florian knowing that Ray didn't want witnesses when he confronted Florian, although he had no problem punishing Florian in front of others. I also liked how you brought out the things that Ray forced Florian to do - like wearing the dress. Ray is no Azura, but he can be cruel,
mostly because he doesn't realize the impact of what he's forcing Florian to do.
And, of course, I really like the idea of Ray and Florian being on more equal footing - even though living apart will be hard on both of them - especially under the watchful eyes of Paris society. Still, it is Florian's place to challenge Ray, and he does it very well.
