I'm... Really confused. Why couldn't they have just set up a meeting with the L offices about not talking to their own representative as representatives? It seemed like a good idea (if Alfred had done it calmly) so I'm confused why everyone was/is so completely against it and mad at him for it. Wouldn't or have mad sense to have the countries to go there with Matthew and explain that yes, this is your country and we're proof that we recognise him as such?
