This is great. I love this story. Love Hockeyward. I wish Bella had some previous experience though, always hate the virgin aspect.

I'm glad that Bella is starting to realize that if she goes back to skating, she has to do it for herself. Renee isn't the one who has to put in all the hours and injuries. She does. It's also nice to see Bella gaining confidence. She is a strong person, she just has to realize it. I for one, ain't looking forward to the possibility of Renee showing up. I have a feeling once Bella gets the go ahead that Renee with either try to force Bella to go back home for training, or show up at her doorstep. One thing I'm curious about though is Bella's finances. Does Renee have total control over that part of Bella's life? If so, I find it wrong. Renee is definitely treating Bella like a child and not like the adult that she is. I think Renee has some growing up to do herself. If I were Bella, if Renee doesn't get her act together, I would fire her as her manager. Bella deserves so much more from her mother then that. Renee needs to really take a long look in the mirror, and let her see what she has done to her daughter.
I think that's enough ranting for now. I can't wait until the next update. Hopefully it's soon. Until then...

Fan spiral? That's a new one.
What happened to Billmans and Y-spirals?
| jenn9394 chapter 3 . 4/13/2010
Now I definitely have something to say about Renee. If anyone is being selfish it is her. It really does seem like Renee is trying to live her dream through Bella. I definitely don't feel a motherly love coming from Renee. That is kinda sad. Bella has been told what to do by Renee her whole life it seems like. Renee doesn't seem to care what Bella is going through. All she cares about is getting Bella back on the ice. By the sounds of it, Renee has always put skating before her daughter's needs. The only other thing I have to say about Renee is that she's definitely a bitch. I don't like her. I wanted to grab the phone from Bella and yell at her myself.
I was a little disappointed that Bella didn't go to Billy's to meet with Edward, but I guess she has been so sheltered her whole life, she really doesn't know what to do. She also doesn't see herself very clearly yet. Hopefully with the help of Alice and Rosalie, she's start to come out of her shell.
I really need to read the next chapter now, so until then...

Another amazing chapter. I really liked the friendship that Bella has developed with Alice and Rosalie. I can see that they are going to be good for her. I'm not really sure what to think about Renee at the moment, so I will not be making any judgments about her at the current time. I will wait until we learn more about her character. What can I say about Emmett. Emmett will be Emmett I guess. He is such a lovable character. Jasper still seems like the quiet one out of the bunch. I can't wait until we get more interactions between him and Bella either.
I'm too anxious to continue to review anymore. The next chapter is calling my name. Until then...

Let me start by first telling you how I came across your story. You see, I was bored tonight. I was going through my inbox and getting caught up on some of the stories I was reading when I noticed I was only down to about 65 more alerts. To me, that isn't enough to keep me satisfied, so I went lurking over at fictionators, and came across this story. I've read what they had to say about it, and it caught my curiosity. I just knew I had to give it a try, so here I am.
I have to admit I'm a hockey fan as well. When I watch it, I'm usually yelling at the television and I often have violent tendencies. My poor husband has suffered some bruises himself if he is stupid enough to sit beside me while watching. I also have to admit that the only time I really watch figure skating is during the Olympics. To me, there is no better time. It's when the sport is at it's best. For me anyways.
Your first chapter has me hooked I must say. You can feel the pain that Bella is going through from the loss of her sport. While she was describing what brought on her injury, it felt like I was right there watching it all happen. This is what I love about reading fan fiction. It's when the author has the ability to bring you into their stories the way you have done to me. You can also sense the instant attraction between Bella and Edward. I really can't wait to see where their relationship ends up.
On another note, I have to agree with you on the fic you rec'd for this chapter. This is Not My Life has totally captivated me like one hasn't in quiet awhile. When it updates, I'm so very excited. I drop everything I'm doing just to read it. And from what I've read of this story so far, this is going to be just like that. I'm off to read the next chapter now. Until then...

Yay for a fic set in Minnesota! I live in St. Paul, have been to Billy's on Grand several times, and I can't wait to read the rest of what you've got so far. I got the rec from This Is Not My Life - thanks for the great story!

I am still in love and very happy you are writing this! My husband and I met at Madison in college and our first "outings" were group skate dates to the Shell. I was so crushing on him that I would make friends join us because I was terrified to be alone with him for fear I mess it up and he decides I am an idiot. Now he knows I am an idiot but it's too late! I trapped him in marriage. HA!
This is the BEST. I am in heaven.
