I first read this fic many years ago, around when the updates stopped, and rereading it now, years later, was very rewarding.

No matter how caring and loyal Tom appears to be, there are too many indications of something off about him to convince me. I've noticed that in many TMR/HP fics, Tom's acquaintance with Harry changes him fundamentally for the good. Here, instead, Harry's acquaintance with Tom is slowly dragging Harry under. In a way, this portrayal of Tom Riddle is more "in character" and the story more dark than any I have read.

I was confused for a while why Tom takes the appearance of a seventh year student, if he is the fragment of soul that broke off at Godric's Hollow. My conclusion is that this was a calculated move on the part of the soul fragment to make Harry more susceptible to manipulation (than if he appeared as, say, a reptilian man). I believe this Tom is the same being as Voldemort, but beguiles Harry with his handsome face and caring words. I noticed that Tom takes care to distance himself from the present day Voldemort to the point that Harry firmly believes in this contradiction, and has become wholly dependent on Tom.

I'm eager to see how this story plays out and what becomes of Harry. All in all, a very dark fic, but more accurate and in-character than any I have read.

Hey, I know you probably won't read it, considering that this story hasn't been updated in 6 years, but I must admit that this piece of work really impressed me and I wanted to express that. Even though at the beggining the whole concept for this fic may seem quite unoriginal, this impression fades with every passing chapter, and now, as I came to the end, I'm left beliving that story has every potential of becoming one of the greatest works in the fandom. I really like how you kept Harry's transition fairly realistic, he still has doubts, cares for his friends, doesn't just walk around killing everybody in sight. Pretty interesting is the way you portrayed Tom, their(i'm not sure what pronouns I should use, so I'm just going to stick with they) surprisingly human, though I'm not sure how much of it is just manipulation towards Harry, frankly I wonder what motives they might still has as they already gained a body, what does they need Harry for. I'm inclined towards beliving they kept their ambitions as Lord Voldemort, and somehow wants to stand in his place. And, not forgetting of Tom not being cis. I love it, I don't know if I can go as far as to call them transgender, but love the concept, and it didn't fail to quite shock me, as I don't recall any other work making Tom Riddle that way. I can't wait to see Tom becoming more confortable with themself. Anyway, I really hope to see a continuation of this work in the future. Sending lots of inspiration, maybe that's what you need.
