I just discovered this fic and it is freaking AMAZING. ...it would be so awesome if the boys planted some weeds or something as a way for Naruto to honor Squirrel. (And I am SO sad that she only appeared in a couple chapters, but I am also glad that the boys can now relate to each other a little better.) And poor Sakura. Meanwhile, Iruka is lobbing more kids at this unstable maelstrom, and Kakashi is watching, wallowing upon his own brokenness, and everyone is trying to do something without doing much of anything and oh god... What I'm trying to say is that this is heart rending, and I want more of this story, just to know that everything is OK, even though I know it never will be again. Write more, damn you. WRITE! I must know what happens next. I need to see Naruto piecing himself together as Sasuke desperately struggles to stay intact. I... I don't know what to do. I don't think any of them knows what to do, either. Well, that got off topic, didn't it? Your story is well crafted, and deftly tugs on the heartstrings. I just wonder how Sasuke got away without Squirrel noticing. That seems like a plot hole that needs some explanation, unless Sasuke is a whole lot sneakier than has been previously mentioned (or he's learning as much from Naruto as Naruto is from him, which is remarkably plausible). |
