Marvellous, compelling. I've been reading this story all day and it's the exact sort of story I'd search and search for, absolutely fantastic. Your writing style is magnificent, the way you manage to keep the story so thrilling and exciting is the type of technique I hope to develop in my own writing in the future. I can happily say you've made my day, even my whole week or month in fact! Extraordinary, keep up the fantastic work :)

I'm going to stop reading here for right now. Not because it's bad but to intense. I mean I've read and seen a lot of messed up things. The reason why because I like realistic things but for this story I really want a happy ending! It's just to good and I want this to end up good!️️️️️

I love this story! I like how the way it's structured and how real-life problems, along with a frighteningly unrealistic yet easily believable tragedy in Ash's life, culminate to one general plot, his relationship with Gary. Each problem by themselves from that incident to Ash's drinking have their own plot points, their own problems that need to be resolved. With the relationship, both those main problem points are meshed together to create a loving but turbulent time between Ash and Gary.
With the drinking, there's not much I can say about that. I never drank in my life, and I don't know anybody who is the kind of drinker Ash is. But because of that naivety on my part, your description of what this drinking is doing to Ash sounds so real. It's not just some events meshed together to bring about a drunken mess; the details flow so well that the situation around that point alone doesn't sound stuffed up and just filler. And then there are also small moments of realism about what drinking can do such as the potential of date-rape and not being as coherent as you want to be when smashed.
With the traumatic experience that Ash went through, it's truly a frightening thing to think about. As much as I wanted you to touch more on the event throughout the story, I'm glad that you didn't. It kept me engaged to want to keep reading and see what it was all about; at the same time, I was able to see how the unknown event changed Ash so much. With such a drastic change, that event had to have been real bad. In fact, your description of it sounded a lot like something you'd get out of a horror movie. I'm amazed that Ash can still function as a person, even though he's more on blacking himself out than actually living.
With the whole drama aspect of this story, I love a good dramatic story. Unfortunately, most that I've read on here that show a lot of promise end up being rushed or their details not so fleshed out that it bogs the story. For your story, it doesn't feel drowned out; it flows well and keeps all of the drama going. The balance between a dramatic moment, a drunken stupor that leads to danger, from a happy moment of love is good. It constantly gives at least unconsciously a sense of safety when those happy moments occur only to have the reality of everything come crashing into us in some way or another.
With the characters, I must say that I'm more of a guy who doesn't like characters' attitudes being altered too much from their original persona. In this case, I like that big change in Ash's usual style. It's a good reflection of the backlash effect he's going through after surviving such a traumatic event. He still retains specks of his regular attitude, but it's so heavily marred by his wild and paranoid behavior (the latter a feeling he has a right to feel) that his OOC is clearly and justifiably warranted. I suppose it's better than having him commit suicide after feeling like this for so long; but living in a self-made black hole of alcohol and drugs just to forget about the past and present had to be suffocating.
Gary is still pretty much his old self, or at least his more approachable self as seen in recent Pokemon shows. (NOTE: Recent for me is back in season 6, the last season I watched before they moved the series to cable television only). At the same time, he has a deeper side to him that is hurt from having felt abandoned all his life. The loss of his parents, the blame his sister puts on him for that loss, the distancing of his grandpa, his sense of immense responsibility for what happened to Ash; it's amazing how he's been able to live with such a heavy emotional burden on him. However, it does explain his behavior of being a loner, a topic that is rarely mentioned in the story but strong in execution when it is.
Both the separate plot points along with the complexity of the characters makes this story into one of the most unique I've ever read. Each topic in and of itself can be its own story; putting them together brings about and emphasizes on the relationship that they want to try and make work. The scenes and dialogue are well executed and makes the story flow smoothly. It's easy to place myself into the story as if I'm witnessing everything myself.
The only thing I will say that you have to be careful of is the grammar. The piece in each chapter has the occasional grammatical error that kind of jars me out of the reality you created. They're all pretty basic mistakes, so make sure that you reread every sentence/paragraph you make after you've created it. The planning put into the story is so well; I hate that the simple grammatical mistakes are marring your great work of art. Just watch out for those.
Overall, everything that is this story is great. It's a great piece of drama, and I like that the romance in it is a great feeling for us as a reader to show that their relationship is progressing. At the same time, you make sure to only use the moment of love as just that. Some stories have a good build-up until the sex happens where things tend to fall apart. I'm glad that this story isn't one of those "we've got to the sex now we can let it go" kind of situations. I hope that you'll be able to update soon, although I understand that you did get out of the hospital two months ago as you said in your author's note. I hope you're feeling better, and I can't wait for your next update to this amazing story!

Holy shit! I'm so glad you're okay! You have no idea. Not just because I like your fanfic, although that is quite a bit.
Scary accuracy on breakdowns though. The parallel between your work and your life reactions was fascinating. I like it when people give someone a job and show the cool bits that people actually remember after the monotony and stress.

| Egg Emperor chapter 14 . 3/11/2014
Yes Lance "saved" him... I can't remember did you say in an earlier chapter that the psychopath had gold eyes too? If so I'm now really worried for Ash. Also I just thought of something, where the heck is Brock? He's curiously absent from this entire story. I don't even think he's mentioned...unless... nah that would be completely crazy, ludicrous even, forget I even mentioned that it would be just too shocking.
Not that the story isn't shocking enough to begin with, I've honestly cringed at some points. Enough of my rambling, I love this story keep it up.

You're gonna have to stop doing this to me. My heart .. can't take much more of this .. ! You and your damn, nerve-grinding suspense that makes me think "no, no I can't take this right now".
Oh lordy, throughout the whole second half I was practically yelling "Lance, do something!" then at the end was like "please say it's Lance" - GOLDEN EYES - "Success!" In fact, I don't care if it turns out it isn't Lance - let me believe that beautiful Dragon Tamer came to the rescue.
God, you made me so worried throughout this! I could sense danger at every turn and it made me so uneasy. Then danger did happen and I was just "ugh, Julian you perv, control your party guests!"
So many theories spinning around in my head right now xD My prime suspect has yet to be named, though.
But apologies help! Shows you care :) Trust me when I say that I know your pain - no one in my story is co-operating with me and I'm just "ugh!"
I was ecstatic when I saw you'd updated, so here's a lovely, long orgasm for you :P xx
