This was really an amazing story. I always enjoy your stories, but this one was particularly thought provoking. It's nice to see growth in characters, and you showed how Dean has learned from what they've been through.
"But, he'd learned since then. He'd learned more about what sacrifice really meant. Sacrifice wasn't making choices for another person. It wasn't dying in someone's place and going to hell because of it. It wasn't drinking enough demon blood to lose your humanity, just to avenge someone's death. Those things felt like sacrifice, true. But, really, they were just asinine ways to try to distract, to try and stop the pain of losing someone you didn't want to live without. Giving up your life was not a way to honor anything. It was just, giving up your life. ... No, Dean had learned that sacrifice was fighting. ... Fighting to make the horror easier for someone else, not leaving them to slough through on their own.
It's sad, but it’s so true. You showed how everything they’ve done and all they’ve been through seems to be leading to this discovery. This is a very unique concept of sacrifice, and very clearly and emotionally presented – especially from Dean who would have the hardest time with this kind of motionless sacrifice. My favorite line was, “It was sticking around when all the choices stunk, and trying to find a way forward.” (We’ve all had those situations from time to time, so it really hits home, too.) So this story was also very hopeful – and very intense. Excellent writing! Now I have to go back and read it again.

Wonderful story! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I like how Dean thinks about what Sam would want instead of giving in to Michael. It has to be so hard on Dean watching his brother die again. I like how he called Michael's bluff. I guessing that for as much as he wants his vessel he doesn't want Lucifer to have his. Thank you for sharing this story w/us.

Best version of what I hope would happen with these two brothers. Best explanation, best senario just everything. Its the way they should feel and hopefully will. You had me crying. Your a real writer right? well done and thankyou for that it was beautiful.

I liked this one a lot. To be honest I'm rather sick of all the angel-stories out there atm (as well as of the angel-story-line on the show) and I really thought that nobody could ever come up with something new about this setting. You did, you showed me The Dean I so desperately want to see on the show, the one who a) acknowledges that Sam has the right to make his own decisions and b) realizes that he has to honor those decisions and not just brush them off. I loved that Dean, while still trying to somehow help Sam get out of there, was strong enough to make the right decision and do nothing which must have been the worst thing he ever had to do. And in this story I felt for him, unlike than all those long, long weeks into season 5 where I just cannot take Dean's pain anymore this story actually made me feel for him and see his pain and NOT just roll my eyes at him.
So, to cut a long review short: I loved it and I would pay to see something like this on the show!

I must say, that while I always try and review each fic that I read. I tend to shy away from the angel fics. It is just not my thing so to say. But I am very glad that I read this one. You did an outstanding job with it. I must tell you that you moved me with your speach on what is sacrifice! It was very well written and well planned! I hung on each word and hear it ring true, with in fan fics is a rare thing. YOu did a wonderful job.
