| csiAngel chapter 1 . 12/21/2010
Aww, this is so sad, really. An excellent angle to describe how much he means to her, and why their relationship doesn't move forward. I like that she knows that he is willing to take the risk. Excellent work. Wonder how so many people read and reviewed so quickly, seeing as you just posted it!
| Ayka11 chapter 1 . 7/21/2010
Really angsty. But so beautiful, so soft, so really

| Chozen Rogue chapter 1 . 3/29/2010
Oh wow - this was really beautiful and heartbreaking. Poor Gillian...
| theshipperlogs chapter 1 . 3/29/2010
You've completely nailed the dynamic between them. Great insight into Gillian.
| Tomellie chapter 1 . 3/29/2010
Wow that was brilliant! I could feel her pain in every sentence. So true to their characters and so sad. Just beautifully written - I live in hope that one day she takes the risk...
| HughSoSexy chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
Excellent story. Very true to character, and wonderfully written. Well done, as always.
| Rugbygirrl chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
That was so sad:(
Don't get me wrong, it was an awesome story just sad that they have that line!
| Crowded Angels chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
Ugh, such hope and fear and deceit and FRUSTRATION. The latter being on my part, of course ;)
Again, really nice piece. I liked when she was watching the light under the door, you could feel how hard she was trying to hold herself back from twisting the handle and going in.
Nicely done :)
| Fearsome Foursome chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
So sad, but beautiful! I love the last paragraph the best; 'He is willing to take the risk – she has seen it in his lingering looks, in the burning intensity of his gaze, in the way he is slowly but surely tugging her towards him, his daughter, his home, his heart. He is willing to take the risk – but he is the risk taker, not her. So she will do what she has spent the last decade doing; valuing what they have, enjoying the quiet moments they spend together, trying to push the fear aside for long enough to appreciate him while she still has him. And waiting for the day when it all gets taken away." I love the idea that all his actions are purposeful to draw her in closer to him. Well done!
| StepFurther chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
WOW! I really like the way you're writing!
You show all their thoughts, actions, words so clearly...
Wow! Great! What else I can say? :)
| mylla88 chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
So sad but , so beautiful yet!
| SassyCop chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
Wow. I love this. So believable. The perfect explanation as to why they are not together! Great job!
| binhereb4 chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
a truely amazing and insightful look into Gillians head space.
absolutely believeable that she would feel this way a nd her reasons for the line and staying on her side of it. I think in her shoes, I would be yempted to do the same.
Inspiring read.. great stuff
| lovethemajor chapter 1 . 3/28/2010
Wow. Brilliant. Not a word wrong, not a false feeling. Especially loved the 2nd paragraph, and this in the 4th: "She is better at hiding than he thinks. Allowing him to see would force her to admit the truth herself, and she cannot do that. It strikes her as ironic that someone who detects lies for a living can be living one herself, but she knows the pain that the truth can cause, and she knows she is not strong enough to handle it. So she conceals what she does not want him to see, what she cannot bear to face herself in all its brutal honesty, and locks the truth away where he will never find it." You've outdone yourself with this one, LightWoman. Would hug you for this, if I could. Could I request that you write angst more often? :)
