Reviews for Riddle Me This
princesspopular6417 chapter 1 . 1/23/2014
I really liked this story! You did a great job with the Riddler! I felt like I was watching an episode of Batman: The Animated Series which is one of my all time favorite shows! I have all 4 volumes on dvd.
It was kinda spooky. But honestly, Mockridge had it coming! Keep up the great writing :)
Window Girl chapter 1 . 12/22/2011
Chilling. This is exactly how the Riddler would kill his enemy.
Major-Stardust chapter 1 . 8/5/2011
Heh this was funny and kind of scary at the same time. I think you captured the Riddler perfectly, and I agree, Mockridge had it coming.
Metrogari chapter 1 . 8/3/2011
I always thought it was a bit strange Mockridge was just left alone in the series - I can't imagine the vengeful TAS Riddler just leaving things be like that. Also I loved the Frank Gorshin giggle at the end. Very nice job. :)
Nightmare1 chapter 1 . 7/15/2011
I knew the punchline from the first paragraph, but it was still a fun read.

Even knowing that, I still got a laugh at the punchline.

Well done, and a wonderful use on a classic riddle.
dglsprincess105 chapter 1 . 1/19/2011
The riddle always scared me the most (next to the Scarecrow.) Though he is quirky when it comes to riddles, he is one of the few villains he still has some sanity in him (Joker is just plain nuts. Your everyday psychotic sicko)

He is also the few that escaped Batman on the first trial as a villain. Who has bragging rights to that. In one episode, he alsmost killed Batman. (The ending was funny as he was screaming all over the Asylam that his plan was perfet and he should not have escaped.)
Vytina chapter 1 . 9/4/2010
Now THIS is how that episode should have ended. Or at least, this should have been a follow-up episode to "If You're So Smart..."

Daniel Mockridge SO had it coming. This is a GREAT oneshot. I really enjoyed your writing and your portrayal of the Riddler was spot-on. The part where Nygma started laughing, starting with a giggle and moving to a full-out cackle, sent chills up my spine. Really great work here, and the ending was awesome.

fireinu chapter 1 . 8/18/2010

I like it.
Cartoonatic55 chapter 1 . 4/17/2010

Annie Get Your Board chapter 1 . 4/13/2010

I liked the way the integrated the riddle itself into the outcome of the story. Too many people miss that aspect of structure when working with the Riddler, but I imagine it's because you started with the riddle and worked backwards. I bet you a dollar that two minutes after this vignette ended, Batman swooped in, punched the bowler hat off of Nygma's head and saved Mockridge - damn it all.

(Also, Mockridge was the corporate chair of Competitron; but most companies combine the role of the chair with the role of the executive officer these days.)

My only criticism would be that the beginning was a little drawn out for the overall length of the piece. Next time, don't be afraid to dive right into the action, especially with oneshots.
Celey chapter 1 . 4/9/2010
You did do a very good job! Riddler is an awesome Batman villain... And it's interesting seeing a villain succeed in his task and not having Batman interrupt him...

A dark story... Riddler has a tendency to be the more "campy" villain of the Rogue Gallery... if he ever shows up at all...

So, it's always interesting to see a story that shows his dark side...

You should write Riddler more often. Perhaps a psychological piece...

"I didn't want to leave you a clue, you know. But I couldn't stop. You have to help me because I think there might be something wrong... I think I might actually be crazy..." - Riddler...

From a comic, I think... I've seen the quote floating around somewhere...
The French Army chapter 1 . 4/8/2010
Dude, this is freak'n awesome! I love the Riddler, he's definitely one of my faves!

I've heard that riddle before in that Riddler website. I could never get it...

I really hate Mockridge, too.
