Nice fix-it. The concept of true love was foreign to the Romans, and although I love the Princess Bride (who doesn't?) it didn't seem to fit here. Otherwise, an excellent story. I've always wanted him to grab her and stop her from falling, so yay for that!

Great job! I was so sorry when Niobe died and I love the way you changed the scene. I just posted a ROME story of my own about changing that day's events also - hope you come over and take a look!

i was realy schocked when niobe died because it was so calm and everything... she was just gone. I hated that scene altough I did not like her very well because of her betrayal. Strange thoughts, hu? :D

Well done. Very well written. I think you really captured Vorenus. And I liked the "stinking bodies of hard-working Romans..." No one thinks about smell when they think of Rome, but it must have smelled terrible (by today's standards).
